Slough would most likely be Hampshire rather than Middlesex I reckon. Slough isn't really that far from Hampshire and Middlesex to tend to pick up youngsters for further afield, due to the MCC Young Cricketers thingy.
Cambridge actually aren't. Cambridge is actually brilliant for amateur sport. Although you'd be right to say that they aren't great professionally, but in terms on sport that anyone on the forum would play, Cambridge is an excellent place to be. You're from Bedford right? Northampton is only 49 minutes away, which gives you Northampton Saints, Northampton football team (who recently lost the League one or 2 play off final, so they're not bad) and the Northamptonshire cricket team. I could easily be misunderstanding this, but I hope you're not incinerating Northants to be a part of East Anglia.
