I get being a bit bitter over losing first grand final in NRL as coach but to me what he said was a bit disrespectful to the Cowboys. Hodges was better in defeat.

Yeah I think that is true to many QLDers. Seeing people wearing the jersey that has half Cowboys and half Broncos makes me sick. It's hard not to question someone's true passion for a team when they are ok with losing if it meant another team wins. I guess if that was someone's view towards two teams that aren't QLD I would be a lot more critical
Kyle Feldt can do some awesome restart kicks too. Some of the kick offs were almost spiralling. Easy to see why Hunt did drop the crucial one. Speaking of Feldt he made some huge plays also including the ball strip on Milford.
I thought his strip on Milford should've been called a knock on tbh, although I still haven't seen another angle of it. Pretty sure it was Hunt who got stripped the second time for the turnover of possession.
The 7 tackle optional restart has to go. I mean it just has to. Either it's restricted to kicks outside the 40, (and even that's bad enough) or just burn it altogether and piss on the ashes. Encourages "positive" football, give me a fucking break.
I can live with the 7 tackle set if it means getting rid of the quick tap from the 20 metre line. It's generally the best contested attacking kicks which leaves teams vulnerable to that. The worst kicks go way out so tere's no chance of a quick tap there anyway.
So you're happy for a chip from 25m out which rolls 2 inches over the dead ball line to be 7 tackles?
No, it's a stupid rule. But at least it is consistent; while giving some players who retrieve a ball the chance to take a quick tap is not. In fact it's about as inconsistent and stupid as possible when you actually sit back and look at why the 20 tap rule has changed.
I've never understood this pervasive mentality. What good is consistency if it's consistently stupid?
Just make it the halfway line, makes it easy for the refs to mark. No point kicking it out on the full on purpose beyond that line when half the time you can trap them on tackle 1 close to the 10-20m line instead of tackle 1 being at the 30m line from the tap.
I don't agree with Bennett re. a grand final replay. I will however say that it's stupid how finals went from being 10 minutes each way and then golden point there after to just golden point once it was introduced to the competition regular rounds. A grand final, and any semi final for that matter, shouldn't be decided by golden point.
Yes it is. That logic would hold if they brought in a rule saying every ball kicked dead was a penalty on halfway. Yeah it's the same for everybody but it'd still be a blight on the game.
Great finish, rubbish that JT got the best on though. Had to be Milford, he was dynamic and I even thought Granville, Taumololo and Parker were all better than JT.
Also totally disagree with golden point to decide a GF. I think it should go to two ten minute halves of extra time, then ten minute intervals from then on. I don't really like the idea of a full replay either.
