As much as I want Thurston to win a premiership with the Cowboys, I really do want to see Hodges retire a champion. This will be a bittersweet grand final for me regardless of who wins.
Screw Hodges, bloke has already won enough. I doubt Thurston will get another crack at it if they miss this opportunity.
Pretty much any other team bar Cronulla/Cowboys against the Broncos here and i'd be going for Brisbane.
I think I'm gonna have to jump on the Brisbane bandwagon. As much as I hate the Broncos, I hate Thurston so much more.
I think it will come down to player hatred. Someone who despises JT might go Broncos. Same for Godges/Thaiday.
I don't understand how you can hate Thurston. He does so much off the field for communities, gives his headgear to kids no matter who they support, etc etc. Stirs a bit on the field and has a whinge from time to time but who doesn't? He's certainly no Michael Ennis/Paul Gallen/James Graham etc.
I could understand NSW supporters hating Thurston because he has consistently shit all over them in State of Origin for a decade, but he seems like a good bloke who has done a lot for the sport of rugby league and has done a lot of work in the community. Top bloke, IMO.

But you still get the media sucking him off for no reason. He'll throw a simple pass or something and 3 plays later without touching the ball again his team will score, and commentators will rave about how the try is all thanks to JT. Everytime he fucks up you get "Oh you'll never see that again, JT doesn't do that", then 2 games later he'll fuck up and you get "Oh you'll never see that again, JT doesn't do that". I think my hatred just keeps building to the point where I almost hate him just because I hate him.
Disagree with most of that. I've noticed some of the stuff sometimes watching him play but no more so than other players the commentators ride. I haven't seen him whinge/stir on the field anywhere near as much as you apparently have either...
