    I have more runs at a better average so I don't really understand why he is ahead of me anyway... did he have one lucky innings in a rep match or something that pushes him above people he shouldn't be near or what?

    His failures were aaages ago - more recent innings count for more.

    Also, you conveniently took Season 2 off, which was ridiculously bowler-friendly. The rankings program takes into account the comparative difficulty of run-scoring.
