LMAO. So typical of NSW cunts to go and overrate themselves. Been happening for decades so it's no surprise.

QLD's front row is where the game was won. As I think we all knew it would be.

And just a little word of congrats to Johnathan Thurston for becoming the third player to break 100 points in Origin.

    Meninga - 161.
    O'Connor - 129.
    Thurston - 106.
    Johns - 96.
    Lockyer - 82.

Think it was Sultan who asked if Bird really missed 9 tackles and 4 ineffective. I'm re-watching the match now. If the stats are accurate, my opinion of his performance will certainly decrease.

Just watched him miss a simple shot on Civoniceva.

Agreed, everything regarding that pass is so retarded. May as well grow a rat's tail, dye it blonde, get a Southern Cross tat and buy a NSW jumper and play da footeh like Benji Marshall brah.

Dugan isn't retarded enough to call for the ball in a situation like that and only Gallen is retarded enough to pass it.

If so many of you NSWmen really believe what you're saying - That NSW were the better side, or that they've made huge improvements and would've won if they weren't "robbed" - then why don't you all put your money where your mouths are?

Bet anyone a carton that QLD wins this series.

    My player ratings:

    QLD

1.Billy Slater - Typically brilliant in flashes. Made a few fundamental errors but overall was strong. His kick chases were a highlight - 7.

2.Darius Boyd - For what he was asked to do, he was superb. Very strong in defence, and didn't miss a beat in attack. Very reliable - 7.5.

3.Willie Tonga - Played on very bravely with a dislocated shoulder. Bit quiet in attack and muddled up a two-on-one chance but solid as usual in defence - 7.

4.Dane Nielsen - Very strong in defence especially considering how woeful his inside man was in that department. Definitely repaid the faith shown in him - 7.

5.Jharal Yow Yeh - Looked shaky with the ball in hand IMO. Was late to cut back inside on a play from Lockyer that would've seen him score. He didn't really do much wrong but he didn't do anything special either - 6.5.

6.Darren Lockyer - Came up with the goods in attack and kicked well. He defended like a mug though and was directly responsible for two NSW line breaks including Jennings's try. Nielsen saved his arse many times - 6.5.

7.Johnathan Thurston - A quiet game by his standards. He had a few nice touches and got QLD a very important lead. Missed a vital penalty goal and turned the ball over in key positions in the first half - 7.

8.Matt Scott - First 20 minutes was unbelievable. Massive metres. Did not get driven back a single inch, great offloads and decent defence. Missed a few too many tackles but on the whole he was by far the best player on the field. Averaged over 10m per run with 15 charges. Superb running, even made two half-line breaks. Best prop in the world - 9.5.

9.Cameron Smith - Best performance I've seen from him for a while. Set up JT's try. Made some very nice runs. Was a little hesitant at times and put his receivers under a bit of pressure but on the whole, he played well. Tackled strongly and lead from the front - 9.

10.Petero Civoniceva - Excellent in attack as usual. Charges were phenomenal. Made a costly offload in poor field position and also missed a simple tackle. His errors stand out more than others because they both lead to a try. Nobody seems to care unless this is a the case. Either way, he should've done better - 7.

11.Nate Myles - Unspotted for a lot of the night. He toiled away. Good metres per run and tackled well - 7.

12.Sam Thaiday - Raped the NSW left edge in the first half giving Pearce and Bird all sorts of headaches. Defensively, I think he can do better. Along with Lockyer, he didn't move up enough and his technique leaves a bit to be desired - 7.

13.Ashley Harrison - Hasn't rated a mention anywhere that I've seen. I thought he was outstanding. Defensively he was rock solid and his attack was also admirable. Made some strong middle-third hit-ups and plagued the NSW right side. Got two spectacular offloads away and was a key figure in QLD's attacking raids both as a decoy and a receiver - 8.5

14.Cooper Cronk - How this bloke can be doubted any more I do not know. When Petero and Scott were off and QLD were struggling, this bloke was a welcomed addition. Having an extra half on is such an underrated tactic. Good vision lead to a nice kick for Yow Yeh. 50m from 7 runs and a solid 20 tackles - 6.5

15.Corey Parker - Only got 20 minutes but looked the goods. Came up with a very handy offload. Very happy for him to be back in the side - 6.5

16.Jacob Lillyman - Most annoying thing is that when he held the ball he actually ran very well; over 8m per run and tackled well. Two errors in 10 minutes when fresh on the field and just before half time, however, cruelled him - 5.

17.Ben Hannant - Finest performance from him in Origin so far. Ran strongly breaking 120m, tackled well and never looked off the pace of the game - 7.5

One of your three tries was just a NSW mistake off a shitty kick. If this was any game but Origin you'd agree that tries off kicks show Qld couldn't get through.

If NSW pick a front row that can compete I reckon they'll win game 2 easily.

NSW ratings or did you only watch Qld?

The offload? You were probably avoiding giving away too many 7's but I'd give him an extra 1/2 mark for that offload that allowed QLD to make it to the half way line by the 2nd tackle in the set we scored the match winner.

Also, sure he was Johnny on the spot for his try, but he could have quite easily held off to sum up the situation. His pressure is what forced Morris to be afraid of being taken into touch or the in-goal and instead of killing the ball he tried to block for Dugan, and we all know how it turned out. I think he deserves a little more credit.

Just touching on player ratings in general, I reckon players get rated too high. There are a few who are spot on and that's Smith and Scott. Hannant for one, should be higher, possibly a 9. The reason why is he was outstanding in his role, he could do no more to improve his game. It was pretty much the perfect bench-prop performance.
According to the journos, 5 has become a poor performance. However it is average. Average in origin is a good thing IMO. It means you fulfilled your purpose on the field. If you play Average your team can get by, when you play poor its when you are really exposed at this level. Wallace and Farah in 09 come to mind. For example, I'd give Mannah a 5.5, however the papers would give him a 7. I'd also give Morris a 3, but the papers would have given him a 6.

Na. Qld have shown they can score points so Im hardly worried. I already said NSW's defence was very good.

Lol at saying NSW will win easily. Good luck with that. You Blues fans overrate your mob so much just because they come close to beating a dynastical Qld team.

    Awesome achievement for JT :D
Queensland have loads of improvement to do for Game 2. Will be good to see Hodges and Inglis back.

I'd prefer to rewatch the entire match once more (ive already watched it three times) to focus entirely on NSW for a better analysis.

Hannant doesnt deserve a 9. He played with fresh legs and only for 33 minutes.

How could his game have been any better though? Other than chip-chasing for himself to score under the dot... As a bench props performance, it would be hard to find a better one in recent memory. Not losing anything when our starting props are benched is a pretty big deal.

By 9 I was comparing them to your stats, he should have been behind Scott, and around the same as Smith.

Anybody who has skills knows that Gallen's pass wasn't just random, he saw him out of the corner of his eye and chucked it up for him, but yes keep it to backyard footy, it was a stupid pass.

As much as I hate Thaiday, that photo doesn't show shit.
You don't think Parker is quality? You're an idiot.
