Would probably forget to issue a friendly challenge or three along the way. I'm quite often not around (which you might find surprising) and when I'm away, FTP is the last thing on my mind.
Could make a sticky side rule for affiliates - i.e. transfer dependent they have to field their strongest side. I don't think people here are that cuntish anyway
Affiliate comp could work as long as they are in the same ballpark - not 190k teams up against 80k teams. I follow them off and on... must admit it's harder with PM and an affiliate!
I rate talents but I see them more as a multiplier of value than an addition. I rate seam spec > opener so I'd probably x1.25 the value - on a 300K lad I'd pay 375, etc...but on a 40K lad, only 50K. I do rate BH/Specs/Accumulator well. Bowling triggers I'm impartial to and skilled talents I dislike
I just think the inclusion of affiliates is pretty integral as it boosts the numbers to what's needed - and punishing them unnecessarily kinda dissuades them from taking part.
One day in the life of Ivan Denisovich, Gulag Archipelago & An Incident at Krechetovka Station. Cancer Ward is next on my list to read.
Cancer Ward is a truly excellent book - though with the number of characters and the multiple names that they each seem to have (in the Russian style) I did find I was occasionally flicking back to see which one of the characters the latest 'nickname' referred to. Ivan Denisovich is one of the great shorts IMO. So much packed into a relatively brief novel.
Yeah I'll get onto cancer ward next week probably. I read Ivan a few years ago now - excellent, excellent book. Definitely in my top 3-4. Just the way Solzhenitsyn writes I love.
28 Sep 12 00:00 - Increased penalties for being in debt As announced on the forums a couple of months ago, some additional penalties are being put in place at the end of this season for teams that are in debt for a significant amount of time. The additional penalties are: - if a team is in debt during the financial update for 2 consecutive weeks, they will receive an in-game message warning them about their financial situation (and again the following week) - if a team remains in debt for 4 consecutive weeks, its highest waged player will be placed on the transfer market - the above will happen each week until the team is out of debt - if the automatic listing of a player causes a team's squad to fall below 12 senior players, a low skilled 'filler' is added to the squad If you are in debt, or are hovering close to it, now would be quite a good time to take steps to rectify the situation FTP-ashario
