Sorry about that Benny, I did pick Evra and Pep for you because I wanted to speed the ending of the draft up.

Can't find MrPrez completed team, so will have to put in them in positions I believe he wanted them to be in.

    Same with Cabinet

  4. Benny BS Read

I was prob going to pick Aussie Guus or Ancelotti if they were free but Gaurdiola is probably conasidered better.

  5. Cevno IV Narang

    Lippi went unpicked.

I've found a website which has ranked the top 100 players of all time by position, so, as a counterpoint to the voting thread, I'll have a look through and put that site's rankings for each of our selected players into a spreadsheet.

Lowest score has the "best" team. If your player isn't in the top 100, I'll be kind and rank them at 101st.

After running through the GKs and LBs, Eds is massively in the lead with only 12 points and Benny running last with 202.

EDIT: Anyone younger than 28 as at 2009 (when the lists I'm using were compiled) is specifically excluded from the lists, so any active player under 28 (I don't think there'll be many) will be assessed as ranked 50.

    Bigsoccer.com?

Definitely used their lists for picking some of my players.

And the results - having added everything up:

    Cevno 213
    Baxter 229
    Heef 335
    Eds 344
    Weeman 382
    Mouse 406
    KATA 419
    Cabinet 512
    Prez 554
    Himann 563
    Lukic 585
    Alex 600
    Benny 603
    Jager 641
    BOTR 727
    Mariner 811

Of the players that are totally unrated, Prez had 2, Lukic 1, Jager 2, BOTR 1, Alex 2, Mariner 4, Mouse 1, Benny 1, Cabinet 1, Himann 1

Cevno and Baxter both a long way ahead of the rest.

However, Baxter has two players that are too young to be rated (Alonso, Iniesta) so they've both been stuck in at 50. All of Cevno's players are rated. His worst is Rio Ferdinand (42)

Mouse's team is a bit odd as well with 4 full backs (2 of whom can play CB, but were rated as full backs not CBs). So, I doubled Thuram's rating of 5th best full back and Maldini's rating as best full back to assess them as centre backs. Probably a little bit favourable, but I can certainly imagine that Thuram & Maldini could be top 10 as centre backs.

Very interesting. Overrates both Cevno & Baxter for mine. For example, Neville Southall as 12th best keeper ever seems somewhat absurd. And I don't imagine Alonso would have been rated for Baxter.

For Matthaus, did you double his score as well? I've got him at sweeper, but he's rated as the second best defensive midfielder.

Yeah - Matthaus would clearly be top 5 sweeper anyway, so a ranking of 4 isn't a huge problem.

And yeah, some of the rankings are a bit off, but it's still a more objective way of ranking the teams than voting when half the voters never saw half the players.

For me, Maldini and Thuram's best position was Cb.

  13. Baxter MJ Deane

Would say Alonso definitely deserves to be rated if some of the players in other teams have managed to be.

Think my team is unfashionable as opposed to bad tbh.
