Coach of the year shortlist: Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid/ex-Paris St Germain), Rafael Benitez (Napoli/ex-Chelsea), Antonio Conte (Juventus), Vicente Del Bosque (Spain), Sir Alex Ferguson (ex-Manchester United), Jupp Heynckes (ex-Bayern Munich), Jurgen Klopp (Borussia Dortmund), Jose Mourinho (Chelsea/ex-Real Madrid), Luiz Felipe Scolari (Brazil), Arsene Wenger (Arsenal).

Not quite sure how Pirlo and Xavi make it in over Martinez, Busquets and Vidal. Shame really.

    I'd probably go;

    1: Franck Ribery
    2: Lionel Messi
    3: Cristiano Ronaldo

    Bale really unlucky.

w/ Heynckes as coach of the year.

    TOTY:

    ....................Messi....................
    Ronaldo...........Bale.............Ribery
    ....Schweinsteiger..Martinez..........
    Alaba.....Silva...Ramos(NFI).....Lahm
    ....................Neuer....................

Disagree with Ribery being the winner tbh. If I'm honest, I only followed Bale loosely at Spurs, but I'd have thought he spent more time on the left wing than at CAM?

Ugh can we just lock Hoeneß in jail, disband Bayern München and forget this football year already?

  4. Eds E Ames

Who would you have as the winner?

Bale only at CAM because I couldn't leave out any of the front four and he spent the majority of January onwards there for Spurs so he goes there over Ribery/Ronaldo.

I'd personally have Ronaldo, but I imagine Messi will probably get it.

Fair enough. Like I said, I didn't realise how much he'd played at CAM.

Ronaldo's deserved it the past 4 years yet they've gifted it to Messi. Why wouldn't they gift it to him this year as well?

Like I've seen somewhere else, Messi as 1, Ronaldo as 2 and no one else should even get a vote.

  8. Verigoat S Verigotta

Messi shoulnd't be 1, but all the captains and managers of all the shite countries will pick him on rep as being better

  9. Uppercut CB Faldo

Yeah this. They've been miles and miles better than all other players for years and 2013 was no exception. Messi got 60 goals in 50 games last season. Ftr Ribery got 11 in 43.

  10. Verigoat S Verigotta

One of those plays as a striker in the sunny SPL though

  11. Eds E Ames

I'm just going to presume this is a sidenote and not your explanation for ranking Messi/Ronaldo ahead.

  12. Eds E Ames

Ronaldo is definitely a striker ftr. Just happens to play wide because he has a tantrum if he's played centrally.

I'm just providing perspective. If you think Ribery's improving sense of defensive responsibility makes up for him scoring 1/5 of the goals, assisting 1/2 and playing a tiny fraction of the passes that Messi does then, um, sure, whatever.

  15. Verigoat S Verigotta

Best player of a treble winning team last shouldn't be looked at over someone whose whole team is based around giving them the ball in a worse league?

  16. Uppercut CB Faldo

You're talking about Germany, surely? Have you seen Schalke or Leverkusen play lately?

  17. Verigoat S Verigotta

Arnt Levekusen 1 point behind Bayern

  18. Uppercut CB Faldo

Yeah, which shows just how crap a league it is.

Atletico are a point behind Barca and five ahead of Real anyway.

  19. Magrat Garlick M Garlick

All leagues are crap. There exist three teams in the world.

    Hooray.

  20. Verigoat S Verigotta

Bundesliga is a 2 team league

    Have you seen Levekusen

Levekusen only 1 point off top

Ye well the league is shit anyway
