Feedback Wanted: Live Scores Page

I created this a while ago and then just never really made any improvements to it. My goal is to actually release a program collects live information and has all sorts of features but that's a while off - for now I'd just like to make the live scores page a little better. I'm looking for ideas.

What I've already done that you haven't seen yet

    • Bug fix - first ball of the over not always showing up.
    • Different colours for events - eg. red for wickets, green for boundaries.
    • Lines across the page to separate overs.
    • Less dropped catches (although this more a simulator/database issue than a live scores issues, I've done it tonight anyway :p).
    • Bug fix - top banner showing up twice at the end of the game.
    • Removal of that 4400 ad.
    • More depth to commentary - eg. "FOUR; driven through cover".
    • Runs off the over shown.

What I'm not going to do for one reason or another so don't bother asking about

    • Page not loading all the time for whatever reason.
    • No option to stop the refreshing.
    • No full scorecard anywhere (just read the thread, ****s :p)

Basically, I'm just looking for little ways to improve it visually and perhaps tiny little mathematical functions. Anything more drastic would require a complete overhaul and I'm not going to bother doing that given I've started on the application which is just that - a complete overhaul of how it works.

I think green for boundaries and red for wickets is an awesome addition tbh.

What have you put in instead of the 4400 ad? Maybe put something like Bannerman Shield Round 7 or whatever in there?

I think these changes are really good, cant think of anything else but something may come to me once I see it up and running.

Yeah, good stuff. Maybe sim games more often in the late afternoon, rather through the middle of the night. :p

Jake only complaining cause his bed time gets in the way.....

Maybe when a wicket is taken it says

    OUT, bowled

    OUT, LBW

not sure whether that is part of the more depth.

What about last man and FoW?

Limit how much is on the page at anytime, IMO.... Maybe an innings at time... It'd save a lot of the errors IMO, the time to upload and download changes a lot when you get to the 2nd innings of teams, and errors seem to happen a shitload more for me.

Also in the thread you post that innings, so you can look back and see it there anyway.

    keep up the good work

As it was said above me. FoW and Last Partnership. Maybe next to a players name, the amount of boundaries, or minutes at the crease ?

Thank god that 4400 shit is gone, was going to say something during the origin yesterday but never got around to it.

    Yeah I don't mind it.

Worst post i've seen in a long time. It has absolutely no relevance whatsoever to the thread. LOL.

Just a thought Cribb, don't know whether this is possible but maybe the ball that someone scores there fifty/hundred it should be marked in someway. A colour perhaps? Same with a 5fer?

I don't like the idea of less dropped catches. If there were no dropped catches during origin alone, teams would have been bowled out for under 200 everytime. How about less hitting the ball in the air? Or maybe more batsman friendly simming.

What I think he means is things that were dropped catches will now be marked down as dot balls. (or something to that effect)

Won't effect the amount of runs scored.

    AWTA :p @ Boobidy

There won't be more catches taken; just less dropped. You won't suddenly see wickets falling more regularly with the way I've done it.

    Thought so.

More catches taken = more wickets.

Or is it still gonna be a dropped catch but only be shown as a dot ball?
