TBH I wouldn't play a racing game with a controller, just don't have the same feel. I tried cockpit with Mercedes, but their cockpit is ridiculously low so just default above driver. 1:43:320 at Singapore now
T-cam for me, would use the driver/helmet/cockpit whatever you wanna call it but it's so hard to see shit coming and and it annoys me using controller seeing the little adjustments made to the steering wheel, puts me off my game nigguh.
Yeah, cockpit view is cool and all, but it's way too low on F1 cars. Can't wait to use it in GT5 though.
What's people's favourite and least favorite corners ? I haven't done every track yet, however I love the chichane at Singapore, don't ask me why, I just do. Absolutely hate the chichane at Monaco just after the tunnel, rarely pull the car up in time there and when I do I always catch too much curb on the left hand side and usually end up turning the car around.
You can brake so ridiculously late into the Monaco chicane.... And the kerb isn't as bad as in real life, so you can basically cut half the corner. Worst corners? All of Silverstone, like every other F1 game ever. Singapore's turn 8 gets a mention (the one after the Webber/Hamilton incident) as the kerb is made of ice, and a slighty touch sends you spinning.
I can't seem to brake late into the Monaco chicane. Silverstone is fine imo as is Singapore. Maybe your ride height is too low ?
I don't even touch the Ride Height in this game. I miss the days of listening to my GP3 car scrap to the shit house and only just making a lap before it wore out the plank.
I see heaps of people complain about the Singapore kurbs spinning people out and shit, I've not noticed it tbh.
Now that I think of it, the front runners must just of turned their engines down a lot, went from 1:56 ish to 2:01's, so I suppose it makes sense that at that point the back markers are doing similar laps. And I've noticed the Singapore curbs spinning me out a bit, but I do tend to ride my luck when I'm pushing hard and ride the curbs. Just depends on your driving style, if you accelerate too much on a curb your going to spin out regardless lol
Wish you could upload replays somewhere, I've just had a massive accident at Monaco and would love to share it with you fellas.
Finally tried setup in time trial for Aus... Did a 1.23.558 after tweaking... Seems the key is chuck off all the downforce, set everything to oversteer and traction and drive a lap. The awesome thing about it is, when I lose the car it gives the maddest realistic spins into walls and shit.... if only Damage was on in TT.
Turn 14 and 15 at Circuit de Catalunya.. ****ing hate that bitch. Catch too much of the kerb and a spin is inevitable. BTW if you struggle to keep up with AI off the line, turn off fuel simulation. Its bullshit and only effects your car not the AI on anything other then 100% distance it seems.
does any else find that on career, no one retires with engine problems? or not matter how hard you drive into a wall, the worst damage you get is losing a front wing?
