In the wake of stunning revelations of corruption within the Seasonal Rugby competition, CricSim News of the World can now reveal a potentially more dangerous plight – a widespread doping scandal throughout the Gamblers Cricket Club.

An anonymous source, believed to be a member of the club, recently informed CSNotW that a doping culture had formed within the club, threatening not only the integrity of the competition but the safety of all Gamblers players. This source implicated Gemmell as the orchestrator of the potentially deadly scheme, providing taped evidence and phone transcripts of drug-related conversations. So deep was the entangled web of suppliers, dealers and purchasers, that the Gamblers reportedly have their own working committee devoted solely to drug related activities.

A second source, who was not paid for this interview, had this to say:

The mass exodus of players from the Gamblers has been attributed to the drug problem, with many worried that any efforts to win the Bannerman Shield in Season 12 would be overshadowed once the story inevitably broke. They instead decided to jump ship and ply their trade elsewhere, avoiding the possibility of being stripped of any CricSim titles, ala Lance Armstrong.

Gemmell, one of CricSim’s most decorated batsmen, with a First Class average nudging 50, is named as the leader of this scheme, and a cloud has fallen over his achievements in the Bannerman Shield competition. He has made over 20,000 First Class runs, with 58 centuries. However now every single run has been tainted by not only his personal drug taking, but his inclination to draw innocent teammates into the web of deadly, illegal drugs.

The source stated Gemmell was operating under the name of ‘Honey Boo Boo’ so as to hide his identity and attempt to avoid detection while he purchased and distributed illegal anabolic steroids. They were sourced from a well-known supplier, operating under the guise of the batsman’s ‘personal trainer’.

Fiery, CricSim’s resident steroid expert, had the following to say:
