    Seán O'Sullivan
People who specify Modric's goal and assist rate as a reason for not signing him should be put down.

    Better twitter post IMO

didnt know where to put this, put i have 2 questions regarding the rules of football.....

1: "the back pass rule"... the ball is passed back to the keeper, however it is a poor back pass and is going out for a corner, goalkeeper dives and keeps the ball in play, with the ball touching his hand. He doesnt pick the ball up or anything. Is this classified as a back pass?

    2. again its goalkeeper related... It is an indirect free kick if the goalkeepers has the ball in his hands, rolls it on the floor, then decides to pick it up again, BUT often you see goalkeepers who have the ball in their hands bounce it down and catch it again. yet this isnt given as a indirect free kick. In essence in both cases the ball has left the hands of the keeper, touched the floor, and been picked up again....

    any ideas fella's?

    1. Is handball, if it's a backpass and it touches your arm / hand it is handball, 99% sure.

    2. NFI really, I'm guessing bouncing the ball doesn't really count as it still counts as apart of the [7 second?] rule you have. While if you picked it up, held it for 7 seconds and dropped it then you could pick it up for 7 seconds again which would just be stupid and hence a indirect free kick would be given. So I'm guessing since bouncing it is included in the 7 seconds or wtv you have to release, it's irrelevant

2nd one pretty certain its you've decided where you want to take your kick from and then your moving it

Like if theres a freekick in your own half you can pretty much roll it to the rough area you want and take it from there if its close to where the foul happened, but you couldnt then move it say to the right a bit
But if you rolled it to the right a bit first to exactly where it would of gone in the first case it would of been fine

So to do with moving the spot of the ball once its been decideed

IM NOT SURE ON IT, THATS JUST WHAT I THINK

First one Im not sure, first instinct says its fine as im pretty certain its to do with controlling the ball with your hands, just asked my bro and said the same thing
    BUT AGAIN NOT SURE

    2 wierd q's

hmm ok, they are weird questions, just something i was thinking about whilst watching the england game, and its a bit of a grey area really

I reckon the first one would deffs be handball, you can't handle a backpass in anyway. Would be like blocking a shot with your arm as an outfield player. That's what I thought anyway.

Would be an indirect free kick no?

I believe it would be a Penalty.

  19. El Nino J Torres

    Indirect.

Nah, handballing from a back pass by the keeper is an indirect free kick. Only a handball by an outfield penalty in the box would be a penalty
