you'd be surprised... the guy is ridiculously popular this is a better caveat in the end though i find arguments about dw characters to be quite possibly be the most boring thing ever, not least because everyone seems to be on a mission to completely miss the point about one character or another
DW quality depends vastly more on the writing than the actor, because it's a show whose premise is "everything", so it runs entirely on ideas. If the idea works, good episode, if it doesn't, shite. I personally think Ecclestone is better than Tennant, but that's just because the more snarky, misanthropic doctor seemed more identifiable to me. (Wonder why.) Tennant's often blamed for poor writing during his era that wasn't his fault, for example Ecclestone got the only good RTD finale. But when the Tennant episodes were written well (Girl In the Fireplace, Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead, Midnight, Utopia), he comes off brilliantly.
Each Doctor represents a certain time in Dr Who or the world Tennant happened to come along as the first doctor available to fangirls really.
yeah most of my criticism is of rtd, not of tennant. he played the character he was given pretty well. think the actor can be fairly important though, not least because they help shape the character too (cf amy s6 v amy s5) but again, i'll spare the essay
who cares? seriously. so they like him just because they've seen him, cool! i fail to see how that's a bad thing. doctor who elitism is possibly the dumbest thing in the history of mankind
7th Doctor > 9th Doctor > 11th Doctor > 6th Doctor (>.>) > 5th Doctor > Everyone The key thing everyone needs to realise, Also: Sarah Jane > Ace > Donna > Everyone Also there is a another thing need to realise The Doctor is ONE person, not 11.
Sorry I was talking about Tumblr and Youtube fangirls that annoy me...generally Tumblr in general >.>
yep, you're out. I like the actor himself and the way he portrays it, not the plots he was given. Haha, semi-agree. Hate doctor who episodes with no underlying theme and recently there's been plenty. Bring back the 4 episode ministories of the 80s
haha i actually think there's a very strong underlying theme in s6 but it's far, far more subtle than people realise, but again~
I more mean a key plot akin to the older days. The theme I've picked up on but \_/ especially in episodes like the one about the apartments and the young boy like gagfc
Hey I will admit there are some very amazing 10th Doctor episodes and he could of been my favourite! BUT it was to focused on Rose and Romance.
