Denouncement Mafia

So, this is the Vanilla Mafia I was talking to you about.

All roles are standard ones you'll find on EpicMafia. No bizarre shenanigans, but there's a theme.

The year is 1950, and the setting is Soviet Russia. As Stalin's actions become increasingly bizarre, the number of dissidents both within and outside the party is growing. A sea shift has occurred. If enough people are willing to stand up and denounce the State at the Annual Party Conference then Stalin could be overthrown - they just need to make sure they've taken out all of Stalin's supporters.

Each day, the attendees at the party conference can vote to Denounce another attendee. If a majority denounces the same person then they will be taken away to the Lubyanka and tortured, executed or sent to the Gulags. Either way, they will no longer be any danger.

Between conferences, however, the Party leadership will be doing all that they can to take out dissidents. If at any point, the Leadership outnumbers the dissidents then the Leadership win. The dissidents can only win if all the Leadership have been denounced.

Rules

1. Denouncement votes must be bolded: e.g. Denounce Heef. Other variants such as kill or vote are not allowed. You must undenounce before voting to denounce someone else.
2. You must make at least one post every day unless you have a valid excuse. Failure to do so will result in a warning. Do it a second consecutive day and you will be mod-killed, and/or replaced.
3. Party Conferences will last at least 24 hours. For a lynch, a member must reach >50% of the eligible members' lynch votes. If discussion continues past 24 hours then a time limit will be set in (usually an extra 12 hours) before the Party Conference is called to a close (those Soviets loved their long speeches)
4. Nights will last 24 hours (or until all night orders have been completed). You will be informed as to when night has begun.
5. Do not speak about this game outside of the thread unless your role specifies that you may, or I have specifically said otherwise. Not following this will result in being mod-killed. Any outside communication, if your role does allow, must be kept in your specific QT.
6. Do not quote anything from the moderator that is said outside of this thread such as role PM's or pretend to quote anything from the moderator.
7. Please do not edit posts. Do not delete either.
8. Once you are dead you may not post, unless otherwise specifically stated.
9. Have fun and be respectful to your fellow players. Don't be a Skippos. - You will have one warning, any subsequent abuse of another player will see you modkilled. That includes Furball and Skippos.
10. Night-talking is allowed, and encouraged.

Preparations for the Party Conference proceeded apace. The Scientist had started to develop serious concerns with the Party due to their obsession with creating ever more destructive doomsday devices. He wanted to stop work on the latest improvement to the Hydrogen Bomb and to instead concentrate on developing the Tokamak, a fusion reactor - a nuclear reactor without radioactive waste.

His cards had been marked. The Party was paranoid, and the Party knew all. They couldn't risk having such an eminent Scientist defect to the West! How would that look?

His assassin was not one for subtleties. He broke into Sakharov's lab and shot him as he looked up from his latest report. He rifled through his wallet and stole a few things from the lab to make it look as if it was a robbery gone wrong.

The Soviet Marshal congratulated himself on a job well done as he disposed of some crumpled notes and smashed some test tubes in to the septic tank. It'd been a long time since he'd had to get down and dirty with such face-to-face business, but he'd enjoyed it. He didn't hear the man sneak up behind him. His first realisation was as he fell face first into the effluent. He was held down with a pole and drowned in a world of faeces. His body was never found, but the Western papers were full of gossip about his disappearance.
