The winds are so strong, Ravens can't handle the gale, Stingrays hide in their habitat, uttering no more big note claims while the wicket is upturned, no longer sticky and the Snakes are hiding in the about to be turfed grass.. The winds have Scottish spin, Raw, green pace and massive Man power upturning the Willow. What can stop the Cyclone? No, it isn't a little black bird, Water Whimps with a little stinger or a poor man's Boa Constrictor. The only thing that can kill this rampage is internal, the Cyclone itself. The Bannerman Shield has had a long, slow season and the team to come out on top at the end of the regular season is "The boys in Blue". The Cyclones are not strangers to being massive contenders heading into the Grand Final, Minor Premiers in Season 2 and Second Place in Season 7, the wind died in the Grand Final on both occasions, but will Season 8 be different? If you ask anyone from the Bureau of Meteorology, they'll say yes, this is the year of The Cyclones. What have the Cyclones got gunning for them? The best Bowler, Batsman and Wicket-Keeper in First Class cricket to name some subtleties. With Johns, Green and Davis all demonstrating how to win a game by themselves too, the Cyclones aren't just on top of the world, they're ripping it apart. The Cyclones prepare themselves behind the scenes, pride mounting as The Stingrays and The Vipers determine their fate. Who will go into the GF against the team the is 0/2? This reporter predicts the Vipers will come out, Cyclones Veteran Matt Johns had this to say about the upcoming Semi-Final "I've been nervous about the Vipers for the last 4-5 rounds, while the Stingrays are star studded, I always felt we could down them if needed but The Vipers have a real fresh feel to them. I reckon we will go against the long ago disgraced Vipers but that is as far as they will go, we will wreck them." With Johns getting in some early banter, will The Cyclones live up to the wraps placed on them this year? I reckon so. How do the opinions of a fresh, British member, in Marcuss to one of the old hands in CricSim and Cyclones president, Wilson? Well The Cyclonic Herald have ran the same questions to each of them, comparing the answers. This is how it went down. Marcuss Wilson Who would you be more nervous about versing in the GF? Vipers or Stingrays? That's a tough one, the Stingrays have looked the better team over the course of the season where as the Vipers have already managed to triumph over us once this season. For me it would have to be the 'Rays, their bowling attack will ask some serious questions of our side. Obviously the Stingrays. They're definitely the better side of the two. Thats not taking anything away from the Vipers. They've beaten us twice this season. Neither will be easy to beat. The Cyclones have a record of 0/2 in GFs, will that be turned around this season? Although I'm confident that we're good enough to come up with the answers. Yeah, most definitely. I was only here on Cricsim for the most recent of those 2 finals so can't speak of the one previous. However, last year the manner in which we lost was heart breaking. Losing by 1 wicket and allowing them to move from 169-8 to 298-9 was dreadful. What I'm sure of is that every single one of our players is out to avenge last seasons defeat. I'd ****ing hope so. We've hit a form slump in the last two games, which is slightly worrying. I'm still backing us this season though. What do The Cyclones need to do to improve? What do the Cyclones need to do to improve? I'm not sure. Everything about the club is perfect, we have good players on the field and great members off it. Our ALC Side is one of the most active around and our record with developing ALC players into BS stars has been proven to be excellent. It's a real community at the 'Clones which has no doubt been helped by our success on the pitch... so keep it up. After the last two games, consistency. Very few of our 11 have been consisten this season and we've still been dominant. Next season, the Cyclones lose the no.1 ranked batsman in Gemmell, how badly will this affect us? You can't deny the fact that losing Gemmell will hurt us. Just I don't believe it will be as bad as Gemmell himself thinks. The Cyclones aren't a one man side, we've got start players 1-11 and that will still be the same next season. It's not like we don't have somebody to replace Gemmell either, Masters performed that very role earlier in the season and proved his ability to step up into BS. Also the signing of Short will go along way to filling the hole left by Gemmell. Not badly at all. He's obviously going to be a loss for our lineup, but we have quality in our batting lineup without Gemmell, and a quality replacement in Masters. We have a brilliant bunch of juniors coming through as well. We'll be fine. Any words for the winner of The Vipers vs Stingrays? Words for the winner of the Vipers and Stingrays match? I'd love a Stingrays v. Clones gf. Would make a great article about the similarites, and yet the stark differences between this and season 5 gf.
Nah. It wouldn't feel right not playing the Clones. They've been the best team all season. We were better at caning the shit ****s of the comp but they were better in our battles. Got them over the line.
