Was good to hear Gould say exactly what I was thinking with 15-20 to go about none of the players putting in 'origin efforts' there were so many dumb things at crucial points by players who will go close to selection. *Pearce's forward pass 10 metres out on the first tackle, team up by 2 with ten minutes to go, so unneccesary. To my memory Pearce threw a forward pass almost identical in last years origin which shows me he doesn't learn from his mistakes, un needed risk. *Fergusons herp-a-derp moment at the back when he decided to big the ball up and run across the dead ball line There were a few more similar mistakes that I can't think of off the top my head, but those two moments are classic examples of things that happen in origin that add so much unnecessary pressure/points (Hodgson inbred ball, Hayne trying throwing ball back in etc etc) which always cost us. I didn't see, and haven't seen enough from any 17 blokes to make me think there's enough discipline to beat QLD in this years series.
Also where can I find the stats for the game? I thought Mannah, Douglas and TLL showed enough to get the prop spots, Woods had a good performance too. I thought they all outplayed Merrin and Weyman, Weyman just looks too slow, even when he bends the line he seldom gets the quick play the ball and Merrin just strikes me as a poor mans Woods.
Woods was the best prop. Wouldn't be a stretch to say he's the best defensive prop in the game yet he still makes mass metres & bends the line well.
Woods was fucking awesome tomorrow. AFAIC there is one spot up for grabs for NSW props. Gallen, Mannah and Tamou will all be there. I want Woods for the other spot, but im bias.
Woods was gun, Gibbs was strong although he'll never get picked. Douglas was good also but I really wasn't that impressed. Every play the ball of his was the slowest by any forward.
I already told him I wont be displaying his head with my posts again, until the beard is bought back.
