Changes For Game II

For QLD, I would at the very least swap Tate and Hodges in defence, if not completely drop Hodges all together with Nielsen on the wing. Civoniceva to the bench for Shillington. I really think we need a Johnson or Parker there to fix the defence in the middle but I don't like making unforced changes during a series. History shows loyalty and consistency really pay off.

For NSW, I'd swap Hayne and Stewart. Drop Josh Morris, move Luke Lewis to right centre. I'd put Buderus in the side and drop Buhrer. I'd replace Tony Williams for Learoyd-Lahrs. And find a place for Fensom - Too many attacking backrowers.

What changes would you guys make?

We won but we have obvious flaws that need to be remedied.

Really wouldn't surprise me if Petero does what he did in the 4nations 2 years back when he dropped himself over poor form. There'd probably be more resistance from his QLD team mates and Mal to let him do so than there was from Sheens but I reckon it's a real possibility, he was way off the pace.

My opinion of the NSW team really hasn't changed that much based on what I saw last night, I never really minded the front row rotation even though Merrin wasn't my first choice he was solid and I really couldn't justify playing Farah for any less than 60 minutes given his strong showing last night so I'm not sure Buderus would really offer much value over someone like Hinchcliffe who can play in the backrow.

Pretty much same as you Fensom to lock, Lewis to the centres, Bird shifts to the second row, Watmough in for Creagh & Buderus or Hinchcliffe (don't think it matters a whole lot who) in for Buhrer.

I can't see Petero dropping himself after pleading with the QRL to pick him. He was really down by his standards but I think playing an impact role and not having to endure the frantic opening 20 would be so much better for him and the team. Not to mention that Matt Scott too was very poor by his standards. NSW really did a job on them in the opening stint.

What did you think of Junior Junior?

    Your QLD, not NSW :p

Had to laugh at Bird getting his arm around QLD tacklers to offload to his winger. Only his "winger" was Hayne, who had NFI, and had stopped. A genuine winger keeps up with that play, and heads away on a break

Hahaha Morris was the reason Inglis was so quite you fool.

Johns: Nice job shithead, you just lost us the game.

Gallen: Will you still be-can I still be your fwend?

Johns: No! Get away from me.

    Correct? Yes.

Morris was the prime cause of the only two legitimate Queensland tries.

Inglis was quiet because Queensland got smashed up the middle.

I would be making changes to some of the NSW forwards and essentially everyone has echoed my thoughts already.

  16. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

No changes for me, although I think Parker should be starting.

  17. Lukic L Popovic

    Woods/TLL for Creagh
Lewis for Morris (bring Watmough in)
    DeGois? for Buhrer.
Hayne to FB & Stewart to the wing.

  18. SM MD Dorn

    You'd keep Merrin?

If Dugan can get himself together and not get injured, I would have him there over Stewart, if Stuart keeps Hayne on the wing.

IIRC Hodges was there in cover defence anyway. Always a chance he would have got past him but with little room to move it wasn't a guaranteed break.

Anyway, pretty much agree with MF. Drop Jorris, for who I don't know because let's face it, Lewis wont get moved to centre. Hayne to fullback, was immense up the middle tonight, made the most metres from any back, and that's without barely any kicks going to him, only made 1 kick return, the rest were just runs. Buhrer needs to go, and I thought G Stewart played pretty average as a ball playing 2nd row. Really halted a couple of swings out towards that wing.
