My first experience was stumbling into a joint pissed of my titties, and being told that entry was buying a drink. Sat down with my beer and some guy with Down Syndrome starts ripping into 'I Bet That You Look Good on the Dancefloor'. He notices me bopping along and gives me an excited wave. I figure fuck it, and we provide a soaring rendition that gets the bar pumping. I start thinking I'm a mic wizard at this point and throw the mic around, spins etc. We pound through Wonderwall next, and then after about a 30 minute break to allow the bar to recover before he excitedly approaches me about performing Rape Me by Nirvana. After another A grade performance it's time to shut the bar so I leave with Cricsim's second best interaction with a retard (behind morgie) under my belt. Any of you fellow 'Simmers done it? Fuck it's good fun drunk, can see why the nippons love to get smashed off some sake and give it a belt.
Done karaoke to Bohemian Rhapsody at my dad's 50th a few years ago, was a little drunk but nothing major. Never again though... Looking back it would have to be one of my most embarrassing moments in recent years.
People are always really hesitant to get up on stage and give it a go. It's all a bit of fun. Koreans and Filipinos especially love their karaoke.
Always something we always say yeah we'll get lashed and go do it one night, but I've never actually done it, reckon it would be a top laugh

I've done karaoke in one of the Asian places where you get private rooms. Hardly anyone wanted to sing though :/ They weren't drunk enough
Ironically I did karaoke the day after I posted this. Was out in Brisbane after going to the Broncos vs. Storm game on Friday night, spent a lot of time at Paddos and then bar hopped for a bit until we stumbled across a random karaoke bar. I got up and did Float On by Modest Mouse, Plug in Baby by Muse, Under the Bridge by RHCP, and then joined a complete random dude doing You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC. I was absolutely smashed but it was loads of fun.
Saw an advert today for Bandeoke. Kareoke, but with a live band in support rather than just a backing track. Keen, Athers?
Going Karaoke this friday with me work peeps. It's only 5 of us and it's a private room but still keen.
