Thompson was so much better when he was a centre. I really hope St George play him there tbh; doubtful though.
yeah I agree so much. so much about him suggested he'd be a gun backrower but he just doesn't have the impact. sort of glad he's moving on considering what he'd be asking wage wise.
I don't think Thompson is actually worth more as a second rower than someone like Picker really so even though I've always liked him, it was a fair enough decision to let him go. He's better than all St George's non-Creagh second rowers so he'll improve their side if he plays there which he probably will but I'd be looking to get him back in the centres. On the subject of centres, Ferguson is clearly protesting the sacking of Earl here by refusing to pass the ball to Wighton.
