I dunno what the defensive stats say, but I thought he did really well in defence for most of the match.
Fuck off idiots. He was in live play and on the ground. Hodges should hit him in the knee. Yes He was good in defence I thought. Was fucked with ball in hand though. Lockyer, again, showing why he is the best of all time.
Yeah, stats don't always show us the whole picture. He always seemed to be there to make the tackle when needed. Cover defence helped out in the rest.
Our left edge defence was fucking awesome tonight tbh. Glenn, Wallace and Reed were shuting them down all over the shop. We were spent though tbh, as I said earlier, it was the 2 immense runs by McGuire and Hodges that helped us trundle down there.
McGuire love ftw. Fuck he has been awesome the last few weeks, though with his workload he gets a bit sloppy in defence at times.
He probably rushes too much. He'll chill a bit more as he matures. He played for Samoa in that Pac Islands Cup, can he still play Origin within the next 2 years or so, or will he have to wait the full 4 years?
Other than Lockyer's magic whilst in pain, the most impressive thing about tonight was Broncos go forward. It has a been a few years since we have had that luxury. Dragons defence was top shelf as well.
Once he actually got hold of someone he was good. Problem is, he didn't commit to many tackles. That is Hodges in a nutshell.
Apparently a confirmed fractured cheek bone for Lockyer. If he wasn't retiring, he'd prolly miss the season to not suffer any further damage, but I reckon with a max of 2 games left in his career, he'll battle on. Would be great to see him in headgear too.
