Rage quit. The refs raped Brisbane in the first half and the shit ****s never recovered. Yow Yeh and Folau were ****ing ordinary in defenece and, deadset, Scott Anderson should be in reggies for the Caloundra Sharks he was that shithouse.
Locky NEEDS to play next week. And I don't think he'll miss it for anything. He'll play with 10 painkillers if needed.
Watching from the angle I was sitting at, the ball he gave for Gidley's try was brilliant on the part of both players. It was a great line, and Mullen timed everything perfectly. All that said, the start of the game was pretty poor. IIRC we completed our first set by passing it over the sideline on our 30. There were definitely signs that we could've been carved up the middle, but Brisbane pretty much seemed to go away from that game plan. And, even though the last 20 was pretty entertaining, there's no way I really want to see MacDougall, Uate, Sau and Vuna all over on one side of the field when we're inside the 20m line.
Defended pretty well. Missing Lockyer and having McCullough and Hoffman so focused up the middle definitely hindered his attacking game though, and some of his kicks left a lot to be desired.
Thought the real change was when Tolar came onto the field and started going forward. Once he did the Knights were on top for the rest of the game. Mullen and Gidley in the halves IS the answer at newcastle. You can harp on about neither being natural halfbacks but it's a great halves pairing at NRL level. Fix th prop rotation and they'll pwn. Oh and lol @ Broncos.
I see that Uate is getting a roaming role off the scrum - don't mind that. Should give him a shot at fullback sometime. I mean we can't even attract Justin Horo with a big sum...
