Maitland's in the Lions squad? Crazy.

  3. Rego RS Hutchinson

Few surprises but generally a pretty good squad. Loled at Maitland being selected.

    Really excited for this.

  4. cloughie09 TJ Clough

Looks like a strong enough to do the job, shame no wilko surprised they dint pick 3 10's aswell

  5. BoyBlunder BOY Blunder

Wilko was never going to go as there's a good chance Toulan will be in the French final the day of the first match.

  6. Howe JHF Howe

Then there's the fact that Wilko is not, realistically, good enough any more.

  7. cloughie09 TJ Clough

I dint know the french final was that day, so that makes more sense but I still would have taken 3 10's,

  8. Eds E Ames

    Warburton

    eurgh

  9. MrPrez CM Dyer

Yeah I was surprised he was chosen as skipper, and as a result an almost certain starter, given that people here had said he wasn't a patch on what he'd been a year or two ago.

  10. Howe JHF Howe

That was always a bit presumptuous, really. He had a dodgy autumn in 2012 and that's about it.

  11. MrPrez CM Dyer

He was dropped a few months ago, aye? Seems strange to be captaining after that save for an amazing comeback.

  12. Howe JHF Howe

Yeah that bad treatment of him isn't limited to fans.

Must be quite satisfying for Gatland to put two fingers up at Rob Howley like this.

  13. The Boy Brumby ZJ Brumby

Outplayed Farrell jr in the Schmeineken semi pretty comfortably, tbf.

Turns out he was asked and said "non" anyway:

Two Tongans, two Maoris, two South Africans and a Samoan walk into a bar.

The barman says, "Well done on your selection for the British & Irish Lions tour to OZ lads."

  15. cloughie09 TJ Clough

:tabletalk: unfortunatley true, just hope they don't get hit by a bus as they leave the bar :chinese:

  16. Furball G Furball

I wouldn't be surprised to see Wilkinson play at some point on the tour.

  17. MrPrez CM Dyer

    Haha wtf.

  18. Droos JP Rhodes

I was also like wtf at Warburton's selection, especially as captain. He surely doesn't deserve it on form.

  19. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Was discussing with Brumby on CW whether the Lions will play 10 or 15 man rugby. Do any of the English fans here have any knowledge on the topic based on what you are hearing?

  20. Howe JHF Howe

A lot of that depends on O'Driscoll. If he doesn't start I can see the heavy centres just smashing into the line time and time again. Don't think it'll be 10 man though.
