I've got to say and this is big for me because I've been extremely critical of him through all the Cricsim love but I've been warming to Matt Gillett this season, I don't think he's turned into the player anyone thought or hoped he would but he's turning into a top class second rower.

Last year he permanently shifted to an edge and went from being viewed as an attacking outlet to becoming a workhorse with little quality to his play. Getting used to the extra workload was always going to take its toll on his effectiveness and the question would be after an off-season could he take another leap in his development. His attack has been slightly better than last year although he's still got hands to make you question if he's the 5th Burgess bro but it's his defence that's been awesome this year. It was pretty standard in a Broncos game to see Matt Gillett try to rush a player taking a hit up only to end up on his ass but this year he's genuinely pulling off some huge hits and with consistency on all areas of the pitch. I think he's matured into a real forward leader of that Broncos pack and it's all been through his defence.

 

Wouldn't surprise me if they fucked Kodi off given he's most likely going to leave at season end anyway. Use that money for Seg for this season and then upgrade it for next.
