That's what pisses me off betting with the TAB, when you back something at reasonable odds then there's a massive plunge and you end up collecting buggar all.
$1 on it would earn you the whole pool @ 75% at the moment. Effectively, the 5 teams not yet bet on are at odds of $378.70
Delonge Plains are currently @ $9 on the Tote after Gazza's bet, but would move in to $3.50 if you were to bet the whole $100 on them.
Its clear that you don't understand how the Tote works. With a Totalisator, you get effectively: (Total Pool Size * 1-Takeout Rate) / Total Winning Investments i.e. If Delonge Plains win, currently Gazza has the only winning investment ($50) Total Turnover to date = $600 Takeout Rate (i.e. the Totalisator Profit) = 25% Therefore, the odds are: (600 * 1-.25)/50 = 450/50 = $9 If you invest $100, this changes to (700 * 1-.25)/150 = $3.50 i.e. the Totalisator continually changes in price until the event starts.
