    Don't know how Tigers 2005 made this list. You should've put in teams that had excellent seasons but didn't win Grand Finals like Sharks 99, Eels 01 and Bulldogs 02.

    The way Manly beat St George/Illawarra, Warriors and then totally dominated Melbourne they would have probably defeated every team from 2000 in the form they were in at that time, but over the whole of season 2007 Melbourne were nothing short of awesome.

    Honestly, I'd even say throughout the regular season, Melbourne were the better team than Manly in 08.

    Agree with this. I'd go so far as to say Brisbane were also better than Manly in 08, had Manly suffered the same representative losses as the Broncos.

    Player for player both Brisbane & Melbourne were stronger than Manly no question. Manly were also most fortunate when it came to injuries and losing players for Rep duty.
    Having said that come semi final time last year we were on fire and on such a roll I doubt anyone would have beaten us.
    Strongest team over the last 3-4 years has definitely been Melbourne and most consistant.

    Fair response. Was expecting to get blasted by some idiot Manly fans who reckon they were, hands down, the best team all season just because they won the Grand Final 40-0.

    "Finals form" aside, Brisbane and Melbourne were definitely the teams of 2008 IMHO. Roosters were extremely solid before slipping up badly in the 2nd half the season.

    Manly were lucky with injuries and representative duties throughout the entire season. Not saying they are a bad team, far from it... but if they had someone like Brett Stewart out for the Grand Final (a minimal equivalent to what Cameron Smith is worth to the Melbourne side), then it would've been a different story IMO.

    But to be fair, at the end of the day, you have to have a bit of luck on your side and a few things going your way to win the comp. That's just how it goes.

    I'll only blast someone if they say something idiotic without any facts to back it up and basically I agree with a lot of what you say so it's all good.
    Anyway there's only 2 Manly fans on this site so you're pretty safe.

    Surprised that anyone would even consider Tigers 05, Broncos 06 & Manly 08.

    Tigers went on an epic winning streak, the Broncos/Storm final was rigged and Manly 08 got heaps lucky.
