8 Tries, + 24 Try Assists + 26 Line Break Assists + 10 LBs 14 Tries + 15 Try Assists + 7 Line Break Assists + 32 LBs Benji = 68 Hayne = 68 Not much in it.
This is such a ****ing stupid argument. The fact that Benji has sustained a good level for more than 8 weeks gives him the victory. Even though this won't prove anything....here's their stats since entering the comp: Benji: 103 games, 41 tries, 51 lb's, 78 lba's, 70 ta's, 94 offloads, 297 tackle breaks, 127 errors, 32 penalties, 85.1mpg from 8.6 runs, 9.9 tackles and 2.8 mt's per game. Hayne: 85 games, 49 t's, 76 lb's, 12 lba's, 25 ta's, 60 offloads, 455 tackle breaks, 143.5mpg from 14.8 runs, 104 errors, 31 penalties, 6.7 tackles and 1.7 mt's per game.
Idk, Benji really only pulls out 8 outstanding games a season tbf... And yeah, those stats show Benji is a better half and Hayne is a better back.
It can never really be proven no matter what stat anyone pulls out seeming they sapecialise in different positions. We have seen Hayne try and fail at 5/8 and Benji is nowhere near Haynes level as a FB or winger.
Benji has never played fullback. Now that you mention it, watching the way Marshall plays, his best position would be full back. It takes him out of the defensive line, it lets him chime into the attack whenever and most importantly, it gives him lethal space on kick returns. When crammed by 3 or 4 defenders, everyone saw what he did in the GF 05.
Would be fine as long as he could position himself as a fullback in defence and defuse bombs and what not. And I doubt he would be as good as the top fullbacks in the game.
He would be fine in defence, he could run someone down and tackle them around the legs. He can't defend front on, but could side on without doubt imo. He would be the best attacking fullback for sure.
Defence as a full back (as with on the wings) is less about ability to tackle people, and more about positioning, takes along time to learn that and IMO some people just won't ever get it.
I reckon he could, would take some time though. He has more potential as a fullback than Moltzen though.
