ANZAC Day: St Kilda vs. Sydney @ Wellington

    Tickets booked.

    Weather is set fair (though that can change rapidly in Wellington) and it has rained pretty consistently for the last few days.

    Late kick-off (7.45pm I think) which presumably means it follows straight after the Collingwood vs. Essendon game.

    If the weather's good, we should have a bumper attendance. Hotel bookings for ANZAC Day in Wellington are up 300% on last year - apparently mainly due to Australian AFL fans being in town.

    Would love it to be a sell out. C'mon Wellington.

    I think it's a trial with a view to doing it every year. Not sure if it'd be St. Kilda vs. Sydney every year, but it will be a St. Kilda home game. There's gotta be some significant advantages to St Kilda and the AFL in doing this - a 2nd game on ANZAC Day for a start. I think it'd have to be a disaster for them not to repeat the game next year. If the weather holds, Wellington will go well. But the weather has been atrocious the last few days.

    Where abouts on the ground are you?

    Best viewing is to be on the wing, or somewhere between the two 50 metres arcs. In my opinion anyway.

    6-13/24-31 probably the best viewing, followed by 17-20/2-35 then the leftovers
