NSW should be warm favourites here. Queensland will never give up but they're a fair way behind our quality at this point.
I think we have to go with Munster in the centres, purely because Chambers, Mbye and Morgan aren't up to it.
I was pretty happy with Welch, I think him, Ofa, Papa, Arrow and McGuire is a pretty solid front row rotation. Hopefully Molo keeps improving and forces his way in too.
Despite all the injuries and some shitty selections, QLD almost won the series. If luck goes away next year, and we can play with our best 17, it'll be interesting.
Tedesco Vs QLD.
Tedesco wins again.
Friend would’ve made an enormous difference. His defence is light years ahead of Hunt and ultimately the ruck is where we lost this series. Cook, Tedesco, Turbo, and Klemmer in part, churned us up. Quick rucks, defensive line not set, game over.
Friend’s service is also better. He needs to be there.
Chambers is in large part to why you lost both series
Geez Maloney was bad. That early kick from game 2 was back. Thought lowe was excellent.
Freddy super genius. T turbs and wighton master strokes.
Fuck he moves like a 40 year old
You dismissed him as an option last year.
He should've been there the minute Smith retired, Qld fucked up.
When the facts change my opinion changes. He was not playing well enough at the time of Game 1. And McCullough was worth a shot given he’d played with Hunt.
Partly. Not primarily. You defend like we did in the middle, doesn’t matter who’s defending out there. Last year though yeah. Cunt was straight up robbing us of oxygen.
Friend was being booed by his own fans iirc...
He had an average start to a season, keeping in mind he was playing with cracked ribs making 40+ tackles a game.
If he’d played Origin before and we know what he can do yeah. But he hasn’t so form does count for a lot more, necessarily. I’ll admit it was a mistake picking McCullough but hindsight is 20/20 sometimes.
If Storm win the comp this year, I'm predicting Cameron Smith will be play origin in 2020
Would be nice, but I feel it will be Friend.
Either way the team improves.
Mbye had no physical presence and Chambers was poo again.
We should just play 4 back rowers on the edge with the more laterally mobile ones playing the wider role.
I'd be getting Munster out into the centres with a license to roam ala Turbs in game 2, or switching with Ponga for the odd set. Some people may think he'd be wasted at centre, but we saw the impact T turbs had from there and if LAtrell gets recalled I can imagine Munster giving him some real headaches one on one.
Weakening your 5/8 position to strengthen your centres is madness.
That's without even factoring in that Munster is untested in the centres and was QLDs best player this series.
