I blame Gus "We didn't lose, we just didn't win" Gould

Yeah exactly, my comment was aimed more to point out how little Thaiday did. Myles got low minutes and while he didn't do much, he still out did Third Man.

lol how good was the camera work on the Thurston banana kick? fmd. It's not enough that they cut away from the game for bench players, injured players, coaching boxes, whilst the footy's on but that shit as well.

I like the game better muted than hearing his lack of impartial commentating. He needs to shut the fuck up.

I just don't get these cunts who are complaining about the O'Neill knock on 'robbing them' when they were only in field position because 5 minutes earlier Jennings got falconed and it went against QLD. A skerrick of intellectual honesty would not go astray. Seriously, I know I'm biased but I make some effort to see it from both sides.

His sentiments were true, just poorly worded.

It's not like NSW were outplayed and beaten by a better side, there really wasn't anything in it. For all the criticism of NSW not being able to self-reflect a lot of Qlder's sure are doing a good imitation atm.

It was an incredibly close match but I think we were ever so slightly the better side. We lost the battle of field position but we managed the game better, and did more with the football despite having less possession, creating 3 line breaks to NSW's 1. And we completed at 86% to NSW's 77% which is good in those conditions, despite the lack of ball movement. We also defended a two point lead for 43 minutes which should not be forgotten. And did not receive a single penalty after the 14th minute which was total bullshit (and some people have the audacity to say NSW were robbed).

NSW also made quite a few more dumb/schoolboy errors; the Morris tap, knocking on twice in-goal, Walker deliberately trying to milk a penalty and handing it back to QLD. We made 8 errors as well but three of them were blatant strips.

There's definitely a lot to criticise about our performance of course. Primarily the go-forward. I definitely get what Gus was saying though. A bee's dick between the two sides.

I don't think the success is glossing over the cracks anymore, I think they're pretty obvious cracks. The forward pack is being held together by Matt Scott & a 34 year old Corey Parker and I just don't know where the next generation is coming from, not anytime soon anyway.

I was a lot more confident of NSW taking advantage of this lull when Todd Carney wasn't pissing into his own mouth and Jaryd Hayne was still playing Rugby League but as last night showed even with everything in NSW's advantage; a home game on a heavy track we still couldn't find a way to take advantage of it.

We may just be incompetent enough after all to let the opportunity slip and let QLD rebuild.

There is a collection of current NRL centres of this ilk. Not exactly in the same mould as Jennings but with similar characteristics, usually centring around pace. Actions begin to be judged by reputation rather than the opposite. Michael Jennings, James Roberts, Josh Morris and so forth. Overrated really, is the word eluding me.

Jennings isn't Brent Tate though. It's not like he has no idea how or when to pass. He just chooses not to. You can see it in his face and the way he plays. He plays for himself in rep football.

Well I'd say Myles is done after this year. Parker wants to play on. Scott, McGuire and Napa will be there. Papalii if they persevere with him mid-third. QLD's always had less depth but somehow we've made it work over the years.

Losing Gallen next year will be telling.

Did think to myself last night that half-time felt like an eternity, just put it down to nerves but apparently it was an eternity - 22 minutes to be exact.

That's ridiculous, I'm not sure if that was network driven or what but it needs to be addressed.

It was announced before the game that Nine had arranged for half time to go five minutes longer than normal. Definitely network-driven.

I thought his defense was excellent and he had some neat touches, including setting up the try. He did drop a couple of bombs but it wasn't really his job to be there to catch them in the first place. I thought that generally he played really well.

Positionally he was caught in-field at least 4 times.

  15. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

It wasn't his job? He is an outside back, and is easily targeted with cross field kicks. Of course it's his fucking job. The only good touch he had was the Gagai try.

Gagai; who I don't rate as a defender in any form, saved his ass a number of times.

They goofed up a few times in this regard.

My main issue with it was the ruck speed, it was so slow and it made the attack of both sides look even worse, and it made the defence a much easier job. That's what always happens in SOO though - it might adjust a bit just how slow, but it's always ridiculous.
