Tough schedule ahead? They've just won 4 away games in 4 different countries. The schedule ahead looks easy for them the way they're playing.

Can't see them losing any of them tbh.

Maybe we can have some more bets on some of them so you have a chance to win your money back ;)

I'm keen.

But win my money back? I profited $35 having that bet with you.

3. Fiery GR Smith

You can spin it however you like, you still lost $50 to me. Your bets outside that are completely irrelevant to that ;)

 I was losing to someone - you or the bookies

Rego - yeah thanks for your offer re betting thread, I may take you up on it. I am a bit worried about becoming a gambling addict as I have that sort of thing in my nature but perhaps if I make a set budget each week for gambling.

Could set up a weekly deposit limit with the bookie? means you can only deposit to the extent you're prepared to lose, that's all I'd recommend if you wanted to gamble but were worried.

Waratahs losing is balls

They played shit. I'm glad the Rebels won that one but fuck they nearly gave it away.

Some Pie in the sky talk about making the Super XVIII a 24 team comp and letting in some Northern Hemisphere teams into it.

I think things are getting carried away and unmanageable. Also I don't really want NH teams in the comp learning how to play SH rugby. Let them play amongst themeselves and develop and maintain their own brand of rugby. Life would be boring if there was only a global style of rugby.

I would love to go to 20 teams though and pick a team North America and a team Pacific Islands.

The Pacific Islands team makes sense logistically, more sense than the Sunwolves for example. Problem would be money. Maybe if they played 50% of their games in somewhere like Whangarei it'd be OK. Just can't see the crowds being able to afford to turn up week in and out.

I must say that I am thoroughly impressed by the Crusaders and the way they are coping this season with their young team. They were probably hit the hardest by retiring or leaving players, but really managed to shape. I also really like their brand of running rugby. So far this season they are the surprise package for me.

On another note, wtf is happening to the Brumbies!? Widely tipped to win the comp hands down and now just fell flat on their faces. The Aussy conference really looked likely to produce 2 sure semi finalists in the Brumbies and Tahs, but they are both faltering badly at the moment. Interesting times, and I love it! :)

Yeah agreed, like I said I reckon the Saders are going a lil unnoticed and probably loving it. I'm very surprised how well they've been playing.

Reckon they're a bit tired, they have the bye this weekend, how well they do after that will sum their season up. Tahs are ho-hum so far but still a good side. Rebels are playing well but tbh was expecting them to do a lot better this year, so they're meeting expectations..

What's happened to the Brumbies? They're just not quite as good as everyone thought after they minced the Canes in round 1. They came up against a red hot Chiefs team last week but none of the Aussie or South African teams have impressed me. NZ rugby is just in such great health atm.

Nah wouldn't say NZ rugby is in great health. The Rebels have been playing pretty well and the Brumbies have the team there and have played well, only 2 losses, not season defining yet.

The reason I wouldn't say NZ rugby is in great health is because it's a transition period. We've lost a lot of players so it's the start of a new era. Probably more a case of other countries not in as good of health (SA) but we knew that.

I have no idea why you rate the Rebels so highly, Rego. They got absolutely smashed by the Bulls and Highlanders and scraped wins over one one of the worst team, (the Reds), Force and Waratahs. They are very ordinary.

I think there is a big gulf between the NZ teams and the Aussie and SA ones. The Chiefs... daylight...Highlanders/Hurricanes/Crusaders daylight...the rest.

There is so much depth and talent being exposed after the retirements that there hasn't even been a "transition period". And I think the ABs will be just as dominant.

Just saying the Rebels are a vastly improved team and could sneak into a play off spot depending how the Aus conf goes or mid table at least.

Oh certainly, the NZ teams for the most part are probably better still but just saying I wouldn't say we were in great health yet as there's a lot of uncertainty.

Lol Chiefs daylight then Landers is lolworthy. Take out the daylight, put the Landers a lil ahead and you'd be more accurate. Also if you were basing it on form only, you wouldn't have the Saders last out of those 4 teams. I feel like they really are going unnoticed. They beat the Sharks in a very good performance, beat the Lions (both overseas) and ran riot against the Kings etc. Basically that 1st loss aside they've been on song winning 4 straight. I honestly would pick them to come 3rd or 4th in the NZ conference but I dunno, pretty hard to tell if they'll keep defying the odds or they'll fall off.

I think you thinking the Landers are better than the Chiefs is lolworthy. Look at the number of tries the Chiefs have scored compared to them: 34 v 20.

The Chiefs are the more potent attacking team. I look forward to their clash on May 7th. Then we'll see who are the superior team.

Tbf probably the two best teams in the comp.

Maybe we can go double or nothing on that game Rego, if you're brave enough ;)

20. Rego RS Hutchinson

Yeah maybe, we'll see what the lineups look like at that stage.
