Leinert Brown is an asset as well.

It's an impressive backline alright. Wings are looking good.

Take the points boys.

And start worrying Rego

3. Hurricane JD Hurricane

They also have Brad Webber.

4. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Shit kick from Ngatai.

5. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Your shit house boy Lowe, Fiery committed a turnover and then a try resulted. Such an inconsistent player.

6. Fiery GR Smith

That's beautiful skills

I know you don't like him, and I don't know why, but Lowe has been absolutely outstanding in this game

8. Hurricane JD Hurricane

What a try, and credit where credit's due - James Lowe created it.

If Rego tells me the Chiefs are a mid-table team after this game I am going to lose my shit

That's a paddlin'

Got my money back by betting on the chiefs. I won't bet on margins anymore as I would have thought the chiefs would have won by 12 or less.

Margins are a mugs game.

I never said they're playing like a mid table team? More my inkling on where they'll end up due to how the schedule pans out etc. The more wins they get now the better because I'd like them in the playoffs. Reckon the Saders are going under the radar a bit. The more NZ teams we can get into the play offs the better.

But yeah thank fuck the Chiefs turned up - I decided to put quite a bit of money on the Chiefs +8.5 which obviously won. The reason I was 60/40 on that match was the Brumbies travelling back from SA and I think that was the real difference in this one. Wasn't a Brumbies side we've seen in previous weeks. Very lazy defence from a top defensive team and just lacking energy really. Never really looked like pinching it. Ran out at the end as a result. The bye comes at a good time for them. I do think the ref let the Chiefs get away with a bit but don't think it'd have made much difference in the end.

Only worry I saw was the Chiefs scrum is bloody weak and their defence isn't the greatest. Could be interesting when they come up against some good attacking teams (which they haven't really yet). They missed a shit tonne of tackles but didn't matter in that one but you'd have to say teams like the Landers, Canes etc. will make them pay if they don't clean it up. Cruden's defence is a lot better than it use to be though so a positive.

Ngatai looking closer to securing an AB spot again gives me a hard on :) I just love the type of player he is and wished he stayed at the Canes.

Oh and Fiery flick me your bank details so I can send you that $50. That's one $50 I'm more than happy to pay, actually ended up winning more than if the Brumbies had won (well won by 9 or more) so pretty happy. That and I was logically supporting the Chiefs, made the game that much more enjoyable having secured money no matter what. Hit me up more often Fiery with these bets :p

Stick to handicaps. Hit up my betting thread. My advice on what spreads to choose were all right for both the Blues match and Chiefs.

Did you even watch the game, Rego? The Chiefs only missed 16 tackles, which is not a "shit tonne" and is in fact the 2nd least amount in the round so far. You can't just make shit up. And if anything the 50/50 reffing calls went against us.

And...our scrum is NOT "bloody weak" at all, and we dominated them in the breakdown, (yes dominated one David Pocock...one of the very best, if not the best, in the world)

You have been saying and keep saying they will probably finish mid-table. Good luck with that, considering they're by far the best team in the comp with some world class players back from injury soon, so will probably get even better, (if that's even possible)

Don't know why you can't just admit you got it badly wrong. The Chiefs were twice as good as the Brumbies, which is reflected on the scoreboard. Will PM you my bank details soon. Thanks

I saw from about the 20 minute mark to 50 mins, by which stage they'd missed about 14 tackles....a lot. I got tired and decided the Chiefs would win and just watched highlights of the remaining tries.

The Scrum went backwards every time I saw....didn't look good. Did it keep doing that when subs were.rolled on?

Brumbies looked rather lifeless at the breakdown, well the whole game - lack of energy you'd expect. That try before HT was so soft haha.

Got what wrong? I said the game was 60/40 with most of the factor being Brumbies coming back from SA which is up in the air. I wanted a Chiefs win. By mid table I mean around 6thish-8thish and it's not because the Chiefs are a bad team - I've constantly said they have the best team on paper, just injuries and scheduling, which I hope doesn't fuck them in the playoffs. (Lack of energy etc.). They're taking it well ATM but still lots of tough games left, time will tell.

 You seem very reluctant to join the band-wagon.

There's no way we're going to finish 6th-8th. 1st-2nd more likely.

And yeah time WILL tell.

Believe the hype Rego!

I don't join bandwagons - I support who I support and just enjoy the rugby. The Chiefs are in my top 3 of who I support anyway.
Haha I wouldn't hype anything - history would prove teams that get hyped fail at the last hurdle. *Cough* Canes :( ABs etc.

Nah still too early days - no one's starting to set themselves away from other teams yet like the Canes did last year. 6 teams are on 1 loss only (like the Chiefs) and 6 teams are on 2 losses. Just takes a loss or 2 and other teams could surpass the Chiefs. You'd expect the Chiefs to beat the Blues next week but tbh the Blues could do anything but after that the Chiefs have the Canes, Sharks, Highlanders, Rebels, Tahs - all teams in reaching distance, the Chiefs would have to beat all of them to stay in touch for 1st. Whereas if they drop 2, even 3 or all of those games it becomes pretty tough from then on to finish 1st. If the Chiefs win all those games I'd be very impressed. Reckon the Landers will be a stumbling point. Canes is hard to say (depends how well they play after their bye they just had). Sharks will be tough but the Chiefs seem to play them well at home. Rebels could be a tough one but they're at home which is a bonus and Tahs I reckon could get one over them but it's a while away.

Well they're playing some of the best and most exhilarating rugby I have seen in a long time. And everyone (except you) are raving about them.

This is a special team.

And dude...the Sharks, Rebels and Tahs are NOT "within reaching distance". The rugby they're playing is not even from the same planet.

You have to look to the future rather than just going on the current. Especially this far out. The Brumbies were the first decent team the Chiefs have played and didn't play anywhere near their best. The Chiefs haven't been tested really yet. Well they did lose against the Lions I guess.

If you just went by week by week, you'd say the Brumbies were far above the rest a few weeks ago. They're still a decent team but do need that bye and feel like I'm the space of 2 weeks some feelings have changed.

The Chiefs have a tough schedule ahead and if they get past that on a positive then we can start talking who finishes in 1st.

The safer option is to assume they'll drop a couple in the next 5 games (Blues excluded).

I've never said they haven't played some really good attacking rugby but Brumbies aside some teams have made that easier for them.

Regardless of how well teams have been playing they got the wins and that's what counts.....their form can easily change and start playing good
