All this said - why are Burrell and Twelvetrees STILL part of the picture. Eastmond and Barritt (can't remember spelling now) are all better options. And yes would even go Farrell at 12 before those two.
Because they're actually good. If you'd seen the 6n this year that's proof enough for Burrell afaic, and 36 is a very useful option off the bench. Barritt is as inspiring as a haddock in attack, yeah he can defend but tries win you games.
Burrell had a really ordinary 6N this year. Not sure which comp you're thinking of. Faz has never done the business for England at 12. The more I think about it the more I think they will take a gamble on Burgess and have Barritt be the solid plan B. Henry Slade to be the second centre better than either of them to be sent home
Im worried that Slade not being there in this side means hes not in contention. Only time will tell ofc but not looking overly promising
I would rather have the Argentinian centres over Burrell and twelvetrees. I don't even know their names but both of them know their limitations and play a role. Burrell thinks he is good and tries to make plays happen instead of playing a role. Both Barritt and eastmond accept their limitations and play within them and are hence more effective and turn the ball over less. burrell in particular thinks he is a big man and at club level he is enormous a juggernaut even. He probably carved up. He tries to play the same way in internationals and gets sat on his backside on a regular basis. playing tests is much harder than whatever rugby he is used to and he needs to make adaptations and he needs a coach to tell him to change. i believe you that he had a great 6 nations last year however. I have my own impressions of him which are less flattering.
Wallabies World Cup squad: Stephen Moore (c), Adam Ashley-Cooper, Michael Hooper, Kurtley Beale, Quade Cooper, Kane Douglas, Scott Fardy, Israel Folau, Bernard Foley, Will Genia, Matt Giteau, Greg Holmes, Rob Horne, Sekope Kepu, Tevita Kuridrani, Ben McCalman, Sean McMahon, Drew Mitchell, Dean Mumm, Wycliff Palu, Nick Phipps, David Pocock, Tatafu-Polota-Nau, Rob Simmons, Scott Sio, Will Skelton, James Slipper, Toby Smith, Henry Speight, Joe Tomane, Matt Toomua
Really chuffed for Mumm. He's been a great servant to Exeter, all-round nice bloke and got slated as a journeyman by so many. If England go out in the pools then somewhere deep down in the bowels of my psyche, where sunlight never penetrates, I'll be wishing Oz well
Well we've been more than slightly shite, haven't we? Being murdered at the breakdown. Piper likes hands away and we're not doing it so keep getting pinged.
God, our pack is being properly tutored here. Line out and even the scrum is going south. 12-0 & Johnny Frog is good value for it. Big quarter of an hour for Ford; needs to up his game management.
