Nowell's been released by the England camp. Good for Chiefs fans... I wonder what that means for the Brown injury though

Don't think it means anything, other than p'raps that Brown is not definitely out. The whole squad barring the starting XV has been released, so it's just a 'need of rest' rather than selection point.

Tbf I only saw about Nowell because half my FB feed are Chiefs fans... Fair enough if it's the same for the rest of the squad players

Does anyone else think Nowell could be the next Iain Balshaw?

  5. Howe JHF Howe

    Doesn't seem quite that lightweight

May is more likely to be the next Balshaw, if even less likely to run straight!

He'll likely replace May next weekend. Goode, Watson and possibly Cipriani are covering 15.

I'd be surprised if he replaced May. I saw about him and 36 taking part in a 17man training squad but I think it's far more likely he was there because the Brown situation is still being monitored. Apart from a sketchy first 15 minutes I don't think May's done anything in the 2 games to warrant dropping

A back 3 of 11. May; 14. Nowell; 15. Watson is far better looking than 11. May; 14. Watson; 15. Goode imho. Mainly because I think Goode is the least inspiring option we have for fullback

    Pisser.

Pennell called out of the second division. Pretty ballsy to stick by him regardless of the standard he's playing at.

Ashton should be playing for the national side with quality tries like these.

If that's the best possible case that can be made for 'Ashotn' then it's more damning than anything. Search for Christian Wade on youtube for a highlight reel, and I don't particularly rate him either.

If we wanted a running slab of chest that can touch a ball down we may as well play Ben Cohen. He's still in good shape.

I presumed Weeman was being ironic?

    Yes.

    Bad luck Howe.

Ashton needs to work on his defensive positioning as well. Would not play him. Luckily England seems to be quite deep on the wing at the moment when you leave out a quality player like Yarde.

Goode confirmed in for Brown. Eugh. Hope he proves me wrong

Yah! At least one of my picks in the Six Nations Draft, Dulin, is actually playing now :toot:
