That Foo's setlist sucks a fair bit of cock honestly, but I'm really only going for Fucked Up. Far too excited to see them.
Saw Kasabian, supported by Miles Kane, Sunday night Miles Kane was very good. Kasabian were outstanding.
Yeah I only went to Foo's to see Social Distortion, and even if their setlist is just the greatist hits album mixed in with the new album they put on a decent show in my opinion.
Saw The Gaslight Anthem last night, in their final show before they go and record the new album. It was the best show I've ever been to, they played a long set of 27 songs, which included a lot from the first album which I wasn't expecting. To top that off Bruce Springsteen came on and played with them towards the end of the set.
Almost would be seeing Fucked Up this week as well. Decided to go to The Hold Steady instead who are playing the day after at the same venue in Brooklyn. Since I was already seeing Lucero on the 30th and then obviously Gaslight Anthem a few days ago I thought it was too good an opportunity to miss in seeing my 3 favourite bands all in one month. Oh and also when asked about it my dad said "Fucked if I'm picking you up from the train station at 2:30 in the morning two nights in a row."
Fooeys Gold Coast show was really good, 10 minute story about being arrested for riding a scooter pissed last time he was on the coast while strumming Wheels was a bit weird. Tenacious D were good, sound was a little off. Fucked Up were fucking terrible imo, don't understand the hype there, sounded atroucious.
high fived the dude from fucked up and chanted for him to chug a beer my mate gave him. foo's and tenac's sydney sets > anything before sydney ftr (especially shitty perth set) We got tenac to do beelzeboss
I got to hear Foo Fighters for free who were testing out the sounds on the Coast during the day while I was down there.
Nooooooo way to that last part - although they're not suited at all to stadiums playing to an unfamiliar audience. In a normal venue they fucking rip - funnest show I've ever been to by far.
