Nah, Melbourne and Sharks have a deal in NSW Cup. Melbourne give their reggies to the Sharks team or something similar. Only for NSW Cup though. They can only play FG for their team.

    oh lulz. Still bizzare

Tis still farking stoooooooopid, where would a fringe player like Maurice Blair be based then? Surely he doesn't train with the Storm all week then fly up to Sydney on the eve of the NSW cup game?

Our NSW Cup team is better then Parra's first grade team.

  6. Wilson SB Wilson

Will Goodwin still be kicking for the Doggies?

I'm heaps stoked with his selections.

  10. Hit the nail on the head! Parra are jokers, Haynerain was a one season (or should I say half a season rofl!) wonder. Tongia is showing that much promise it makes my head spin, barring injury should be rookie of the year and go onto bigger things, his positioning probably brings him on par with Hayneplane but due his potential I'd have to give the edge to Tongia.

Then there's one of the most mistreated and misused players I've come across, Taulima 'the leader' Tautai. I had to turn my television off when I saw him come into grade and that bum Hagan stunted his development by putting one of the most damaging tight runners of the modern era into the backline. THE BACKLINE! and for what? to persist with that old man Hindmarsh! The bloke hasn't bent the line in 7 seasons! No wonder Hagan hasn't coached since, doesn't really matter anyway as it only strengthens our squad.

Then there's 'The Rook' Smith, classic Parramatta letting him slip through their fingers! The guys been a god send, just such a shame we've got such class halves standing in his way of first grade, his kicking game second to none and I think he's really matured since debuting in '05. He'll definitely help the young blokes like Tongia hit their straps in reggies, plus he's already got a combination with Tautai has a good 10+ points a game in it.

It is good to see though, our strength in reggies is only going to help our first graders. Our starting pack is definitely the strongest in the comp and our bench has explosive written all over it but people question our depth? I must admit I was a little worried about how we'd handle origin time given Snowden and Douglas are shoe in's to be in rugby league's second most prestigious sky blue.

That was of course I glanced over the masses of talent and experience spewing from reserves, if Adam Woolnough isn't NRL quality depth I don't know what is!!! A few games under Flanagan is all he'll need to be an origin contender himself! Then we've got the next Mal Meninga (if mal was more versatile) in Bobby Blair to cover Gal at lock when he skippers the blues. I think we're sweet.

People talk about how we struggle to attract players and we're in 'financial disarray' You know what I say to that? Yeah right!

I'd say we're pretty set, prospects like Blair don't come to clubs going nowhere and you think Woolnough came out of retirement for peanuts? Forget about it.

    2011...Sharkies heaven!

Danny Galea has dropped off the Canberra extended bench. Dugan is all but confirmed to play after a corked thigh and Orford remains 50/50 but has been training all week.

Is there any cover for Orford or will Tongue just play halfback with Miller coming onto the bench?

  18. Julian BJ Taylor

No-one knows; it will either be Tongue or Williams.

There's a members training session today or tomorrow though so I reckon we'll find out then.

If you win with a halves combination of Tongue+McCrone then Cronulla should seriously just give up for the season.

Furner keeps mentioning a makeshift halfback is an option if Orford isn't fit which actually makes me think he'll play Williams if Orford doesn't make it. Would like his debut to be low key. Did similar things last year.
