Think of it like this. You have averaged about 65% so far. So say you want 65% in the subject, you obviously need to get to 65. So 65-46 = 19.

That means in the exam you need 19/30 which is almost 65% as expected. You want 15 less marks to get to 50 though. You can not really fail this subject.

40*0.65 + 30*0.67 = 26 + 20 = 46

You want 50

50 - 46 = 4

You need 4 out of 30 or 13%
