The Could've Beens

    Pomeroy @ centre from 08 -> now:

1.6 Errors per game (fmd that looks low for him... Musthave been all those games where he didn't see the ball...)

16.5% tackle attempts resulting in a full on miss (this does not include ineffective tackles, this is just misses).

  2. morgieb MC Burridge

Most Aboriginal backs. Even those like Blacklock and Peachey who, like Jesse and Ben said, didn't get enough Origin games as they should've.

  3. Hughesy JM Hughes

Yeah exactly. It is a shame. He needs to stay injury free for the rest of the season really otherwise I think Management should seriously consider letting him go, he is starting to be a waste of time and effort unfortunately. BLOODY INJURIES!!!!

DWTA, he can still come back from his injuries, better to have them now then later.

  5. Cribbage RG Cribb

Yeah, and it's annoying because he really does an awesome job of setting up his winger for the pass and getting in a good position to pass it. He's a classic centre in so many ways but his hands will always be his downfall.

  6. Hughesy JM Hughes

For his sake I really hope so.

I guess that it's just unfortunate that you need good hands to be a quality centre/footballer in general.

  8. Lukic L Popovic

He doesn't have many inneffective tackles though.

Actually, when you get Beau Scott (arguably the best defensive centre's stats) He misses/inneffectives like Almost 18%.

    Pomeroy's defence isn't terrible.

  9. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

He knows it and is working extremely hard on it.

For our sake as much as his tbh, be a risk to let him go at only 19 - Could captalise on his potential and turn out to be the next big thing.

Billy Ngawini. Would have been a good player in the NRL had he not been dicked around for years.

Dean Collis, looked a million bucks when he first burst onto the scene, looked rubbish the last time I watched him play.

  12. Roaddogg AJ Izett

    good ol' phantom was shit

  13. Lukic L Popovic

Collis really regressed, partly because of injuries. Was a much better player in 06/07 than he is now lol.

Ben Rogers. Talent in spades but tries way too hard and fails.

  15. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    Terry Campese

If he was given a proper go by NSW he could have been the man to take over from Lockyer.

  16. Julian BJ Taylor

I have no doubt Campese will end up in this thread if he continues with a shit coach and being forced to play halfback.

  17. jazman84 JM Eightyfour

Phil Lee. Was quality, forced into early retirement due to knee injuries.

Walker brothers. Should never have left Brisbane.

Lote. Wasted his best football years in yawnion.

  18. rabbit boy RA Boy

Disagree, Phantom was always a favourite of mine.

  19. Hughesy JM Hughes

I just thought of Joe Williams. Should of played halfback for Penrith but wasn't given the chance now look where he is.

  20. League Lover L Lover

Already has been mentioned. FWIW he did play halfback for Penrith and failed hard, prehaps becuase we didnt have a 5/8 but still, he was a lost cause before we even signed him up sadly.
