I know there has been a lot of discussion on whether a cricket section is needed because of threads flooding the other sports section, but I reckon that with the threads created in the past couple of days, a cricket section is in order. We have tour threads, and various bits and pieces of discussion here and there, and personally I would like a cricket section. Do we need one?
I've explained why we can't have one before. I have close links with CricketWeb. I don't really want to compete with them as a cricket forum. This forum will have cricket discussed on it light-heartedly in the "other sports" section ocassionally but I encourage everyone who has a serious internet in discussing cricket at length to join CricketWeb. Running a forum that could be described as a cricket forum could be a conflict of interest WRT to my position on CricketWeb. Less so now that I'm not a staff member, admittedly, but I'm still a moderator and might rejoin the staff at a later time so it's still a definite no.
I enjoy discussing cricket on here as opposed to on cricketweb because there are far less people. I feel that you just get lost in the amount of posting on cricketweb a lot of the time. I dont quite see why there is a RL section but do not feel we need a cricket section. I feel 1 sport section would be fine for cricsim.
Rugby league would be by far the most discussed sport on here. If it didn't have a sub-forum then Sports would be flooded and you'd barely notice cricket, soccer or AFL threads.
I just had a look on the first Cricket Web thread i saw regarding "Rob Key - stick to pie-eating"And being a kent fan i dont feel thats the right site for me
I would say there is more discussion on cricket than either of those. Certianly Union. Just stick to how it is.
Yeah, but the amount of discussion on cricket has nothing to do with whether we'll have a cricket section or not, so that's completely irrelevant.
Oh, the amount of discussion each sport gets is relevant, but the amount of discussion each sport gets in comparison to cricket isn't. Even if there were 100,000 posts per day made about cricket, it wouldn't have a subforum. It's quite possible that sports that had less discussion that it would, though. "Neither of those two sports get much discussion here" - perfectly valid point. "They get less discussion than cricket" - completely irrelevant.
Not enough people on here know cricket. Too many dumb ****s with no ****ing clue about the game. I bet half of you ****s wanted Warner in the test side after his 80 in the T20.
