Question on scrums again for you Eds. One issue I have with these player set ups is this Attack/Defense split. For people in the scrum, the automatic thought is to go biased in favour of defense, but really attacking at the scrum really is the key to winning against the head. Attack/defense at scrum time is very different to the mix of attack and defense outside the scrum. Is there scope to have a 4th stat regarding attack at the scrum, split out in a similar way to the kicking ability. Max out the stat at 20. This would allow scrum players to either help ensure a dominant scrum, or be more of an attacking/defensive force in running play. I.e. can your prop tackle an attacking back? Would the prop sacrifice a bit of general play defense in order to make him more attacking at scrum-time?
In fact, this "scrum attack stat" could be extended to be available for all set pieces. A "set piece attack stat" if you will, which would allow Locks to be more attacking an opposition line out, or even become a more attacking option in a ruck or maul scenario.
just wondering about scrummaging stats, I would think it would be Important as far as a team goes to have set peice scrummaging stats seprate to breakdown scrummaging stats. and also I'm not sure I saw maul stats for each team, although I could just be forgeting.
Wait so have you finally nagged Rob enough to create us a sim or have you just found a new/better one?
