Round 4: Jabba - Esteban Cambiasso Julian - Bastian Schweinsteiger Bovver/Das - Ruud van Nistelrooy Marcuss - Francesco Totti SM/Mousey - Kolo Toure Eds/Verigoat - Cristian Chivu Arheiner - David Silva Gazza - Lassana Diarra BoyBlunder - Ricardo Carvalho Marto - Gerard Pique Incey - Yaya Toure Speirz - Giorgio Chiellini Magic - Pepe Theo - Alessandro Nesta Best Pick - David Silva and Cambiasso were my 2 stand out options in here, in teh end I edged with Silva, they both have different positions and roles so its hard to compare them directly at all. Ones an awesome attacker ones and awesome defender, In the I thought Silva would do more, but il gladly eat my words if Cambiasso tears up everything. Notable mention : Totti, came close to the top 2, but was up against, silva and cambiasso, its hard to get past them in terms of ability Worst Pick of the round: Again is still hard in round 4 as non of the players are really bad at all. But im going for a Lassana Diarra, personally I thought the player was better than some of the other picks for example K.Toure, but the difference is theres still a variety of better DM around as a pure DM, not one that sprints around but tackles averagly compared to some others, most notibly Gattuso, who went in round 8 is miles better. But the reason Toure/Pique wernt worst picks is because the good CB's are running out and they were needed to be got quite quickly otherwise teams just wouldnt have any good ones left
Even worse then...hes gonna have the pace to go up and down, tackle averagly and then spoon his crosses out
Was giving you a reason why hed be poor there. I fully expect you to ignore what I say and still play him there. I hope you do tbh, I liked to be proved wrong.
I know...thats why I said he would be able to get up and down the wings...just not do anything to the ball once hes there
Before I start this one I like to say I thought this was genuinly one of the better rounds that Iv looked over so far. Much harder to pick a best and a worst player because all the players picked in this round are actually good at what they do. Round 5: Marto - Maicon SM/Mousey - Glen Johnson Julian - Arjen Robben Marcuss/Fungus - Javier Mascherano Incey - Phillipe Mexes Jabba - Patrice Evra Eds/Verigoat - Julio Cesar Arheiner - Jeremy Toulalan Magic - Guti Speirz - Michael Ballack Bovver/Das - Wesley Sneijder BoyBlunder - Gael Clichy Gazza - Mirko Vucinic Theo - Emmanuel Adebayor Best pick of the round - Arjen Robben, this was extremely hard to give to someone because there were a lot of contenders for it, and were all close, but hes got EVERYTHING you want in a player out on the wing. Quick, Crosser, Ball control. His mental attributes let him down a bit, but I think he will be one of stand out wingers in the competition. Worst Pick of the round - Same as above, was extremly hard to pick because everyone was so close to the top. But im still going to give it to someone. Glen Johnson - This isnt because hes a liverpool player or any bandwagons or that because as iv shown before, I genuinly dont care about what real life team a player comes from when it comes to CPL. I just cant believe when you decided to pick a full back and you have the choice of loads of players...you pick GJ over Patrice Evra
Mascherano was a gun pick. Absolute ****ing demon in midfield. Agree that Robben will do well, very well.
Yeah. I was really annoyed when we had to re-draft because I thought my initial squad was gun. Had Mascherano in midfield and Abidal/Lucio at the back. Henry up front etc etc. Anyway. Very, very surprised I haven't ranked in his worst picks yet. Van Bronckhorst probably will, but meh, I rate him.
Yeah, Van Bronkhorst is over the hill . I wouldn't have midned old team tbh, my original side would still do well today. Bar a couple like Luis Figo
Don't think Van Bronckhorst is over the hill at all really. Plays in a position where you really don't decline that much at the back end of your career. He is a pretty valuable player for both club and country (captaining Netherlands is pretty gun tbh) and I'm pretty much picking players I like in my squad. I'm not going to pick Darren Huckerby and John Aloisi, but you get the gist.
