Brilliant first half from the Sharks. Storm have got no answers, Cooper Cronk has barely been sighted.
Gould is overplaying it a bit. For all Cronulla's pressure their attack inside the Storm 20 has been totally ineffective. A trick shot scrum play and Maloney's show and go from 40m out were the highlights. But you never really got the feeling they would score again with the way they were attacking. It's either too lateral or it's a dump play to a middle third forward in traffic. Melbourne were making fairly easy metres upfield but Cronk has been MIA.
The best thing about that half for the Sharks, imo, was that they never let Melbourne get into their groove. If they do there might be trouble but time will start slipping away from the Storm. That first half went really quick and the Storm do look dishevelled.
That's 2 weeks in a row the Sharks have dominated the opposition and not been able to score shit. Storm to pick their shit up and take it in the second half.
Cecchin and Cummins obviously decided to have minimal influence on the game. Just 3 penalties in the first 40. They're a bit gun shy after the first 15.
Just need to pick the Sharks team for Origin next year, dead set Thurston, Cronk & Smith have turned in to plodders against the Sharks.
Lol it's nice to hear Gould backing up. The Sharks were on top but mate it was so evident the Sharks are struggling to score points. The second half is just reinforcing that.
Not the highest quality game but a great contest. Congratulations to the Sharks, definitely the better team on the day.
Well done Sharks. Attack in the 20 was disgusting but they pulled it out somehow. Welch cost the Storm the match with that penalty and shit attempt on Fifita. Man if Chambers had looked in-field.
That was such a non-Storm like effort. Green on the left was complete arse. Cronk should've taken control and just been feeding Chambers every set. Gotta give Cronulla credit for inducing the Storm into a very weird style of play.
