well I'd like to play Tanvir instead, but he may play head of sammy. brownlie, despite being picked later, is a better option at 3 than Vvj IMO.
I just see any combination of jadeja, Woakes, karthik, Sammy, butterworth etc absolutely wasting what they offer at 7, 8, 9 & 10.
I have the following pretty much set in stone, the rest could vary: 1. Smith 4. Akmal 5. Malik and definitely picked, but unsure of bat order: Karthik, Jadeja, Woakes, Butterworth, Putland so there's essentiAlly 3 spots up for grabs. one goes to an opening bat, one to a bowling all rounder, just not sure on the final spot.
I think your best side is probably: 1 Smith 2 Jaques 3 van Jaarsveld/Brownlie 4 Akmal 5 Malik 6 Woakes 7 Jadeja 8 Karthik 9 Butterworth 10 Sammy/Tanvir/Randiv depending on form/balance/pitch conditions 11 Putland I don't think picking an extra bowler would really help because whoever you brought in would just be your sixth bowler and bat 10 or whatever, and with Malik in the side as well it's just not needed. If you thought Woakes and Jadeja were wasted so low you could move Malik to three and push them both up one, but even then I think I'd sooner bat Brownlie at 7 than play another bowler.
Yeah I reckon I'll pretty much run with this. Unless form indicates otherwise I'm thinking Brownlie will shade Vvj for #3. I'm also very concerned that Jaques will just be rubbish.
Fuck my county players had a horrible start to the season. I don't think Smith, Jaques and Burns scored 100 between them.
Reckon I might roll with full strength first up and then tinker after that. Probs Smith Jaques Brownlie Akmal Malik Karthik Jadeja Woakes Butterworth Sammy/Randiv Putland
