    Yes, I'm well aware of his history at Canberra, Benny. I was a Canberra fan from 88-2000. Point is, he signed a contract for 3 years and is jumping ship largely because of their failures this year. If they finished top 4 do you think he'd be leaving? I doubt it.

    Canberra are obviously banking on said history. It's a big gamble considering that since his final GF with the Roosters in 2004, his sides have finished:

    2005 Roosters - 9th
    2006 Roosters - 15th
    2007 Cronulla - 11th
    2008 Cronulla - 3rd
    2009 Cronulla - 15th
    2010 Cronulla - 14th
    2013 Parramatta - 16th

    I would have agreed with this statement at the start of this year but I reckon there's quite a bit of roster management in store for Stuart when he arrives and that's definitely not his strong suit.

    Not quite sure how Stuart will go as coach of the Raiders, I have my doubts about him as a club coach in general and as you touched on his recruitment leaves a lot to be desired. Not good when you factor in the fact that Raiders have struggled to attract players in the past.


    Raiders do tend to have a wealth of juniors though, might negate his perceived lackluster recruitment.
