Massive respect for the Storm and particularly Bellamy. Well done. Cooper Cronk for CC. Melbourne just never let Canterbury into it. Clinical display. Dogs had nothing in attack.
yeah, the Dogs attack was a joke. A team that relies on Tolman & Graham as their two most important ballplayers is a prank team.
Those are some pretty obvious bite marks on his ear, Graham is gonna be spending some time on the sidelines
Yeah, I really thought something like this might happen earlier in the final series, especially against Manly. When it didn't I thought they had a real genuine team on their hands and completely changed my tune, but in the end it does just go to show that finals football is a different ballgame, and more conventional structures exist for a reason. All Melbourne did was employ a real aggressive up and in style of defence that required the Canterbury ball-players to show some vision, and while the likes of Graham and Kasiano may have the skill of a lot of halves, they don't have the vision for it - and Keating certainly doesn't. Massive ups to Hasler though who this year put himself, in my books anyway, up there with the best coaches of my lifetime. He made the absolute best of what he did and he did it in a completely different style to what he'd coached before; a real case of adapting to the resources he had at his disposal.
Mind you, they had zero field position or possession in the first half and made more than twice as many tackles. And their pack was outplayed. I think their lack of organisation or direction when they finally got some quality ball down in Melbourne's 20m had a lot to do with the amount of defence the Dogs had already done. I certainly don't think they lost because of Reynolds and Keating.
