GRAND FINAL - Melbourne Storm VS Canterbury Bulldogs

Bulldogs had 7 sets in the opening 10 minutes of the second half, 6 of which were inside the oppositions 20. The Bulldogs didn't even make a tackle in the second half until the 50th minute. So yes, they did have dominance like that.

I do think the halves were a primary reason, up there with the Storm just playing them completely off the park in the first half. However there were plenty of opportunities in that second half and I have very little doubt better halves would of put them right back in that game given the Storm really did fail to put them away.

I don't think there were 6. The 4th set was restarted (knocked down by Waqa) before they even got into the 20, and Ennis ran on last tackle but was held up.

Well, firstly, the only reason the Dogs were even in range was Smith's kicking. It should've been 18-4 at HT. I think you'll agree the scoreboard in no way reflected how dominant Melbourne were in the first 40. It could easily have been 22 or 24-4, especially if Melbourne had, instead of taking absurd penalty goals, gone for tries when they had the Dogs on the rack. I just think it's harsh to place the blame on the halves. Asking them to pull back a lead like that is asking too much especially when their pack has been run over. They were never going to win with only 46% possession when the Storm completed at 91% and with better field position. Again, I don't care if Andrew Johns was out there. His pack gets run over like that and you aren't winning the game.

Canterbury's pack has given up a near 300m advantage three times since their magical run starting back in Rd 10. You know what three games they were? Rd 10 against the Titans, which they lost. Rd 25 against the Raiders in which they were flogged. And of course, the Grand Final which they lost. They are the only losses Canterbury suffered and in all of them, their pack gave up a near 300m advantage to the opposition pack. Is that just a massive coincidence, or could it be instructive of something we've known since RL's inception - You don't win the middle, you don't win (or in this case, you get blown away through the middle, you get blown away on the score board, though it wasn't reflected). The only place you see a team overcome a disadvantage like that is the QLD side. So yeah, maybe if they had Thurston out there, they might have just got over the line if he played a Churchil medal effort. They weren't winning that game with a Mitchell Pearce :p And you know how I know? Cause when Pearce's pack gave up a 300m advantage they got flogged 32-6. He had opportunities too in that game. It's just unfair to expect him to manufacture points under those conditions.

But again, I'm not saying the halves aren't at fault. They deserve their share of blame. But I strongly think the likes of Kasiano and Pritchard deserve a lot more. Their defence, lack of metres, and reckless passing cost the Dogs much more than the halves. Just my view and I'm happy to leave it there Magic; I see where you're coming from. Agree to disagree I guess.

Who ended up getting the medal? You must've been close?

    Cronk, unsurprisingly.

Was tossing up between them as well, was only 2 bucks though so no real loss.

Was it all in one big multi or did you win for the 1-12 and the Hoffman try? Backed Hoffman for FTS myself. I also backed Pritchard for it and I backed Canterbury, but the Hoffman winnings more than made up for all that, lol.

Nah the 1-12 was the last leg of a multi from the AFL Grand Final and the European Football overnight.

Had Hoffman for $3 as a single bet as I normally don't like putting too much on FTS or MoM.

Smith for Churchill was just a Norm Smith/Churchill double which I got O'Keefe up on Saturday.

What were the odds for the Norm Smith/Churchill double?

A recent poll of Bulldogs fans were asked if they thought the bulldogs should have won the Grand Final..
    11% said no
    13% said maybe

Lame joke is lame. A poll generally gives you the options to choose from.

Well you would be stupid to poll Bulldogs fans on that subject without giving جمة من الإنجليزية إلى العربية الحرة على as an option.

It's pathetic how they've gone after the dogs there. On the news they said 'some of the dogs players were thought to be urinating on the oval, in plain sight of news choppers'

Seriously go and get fucked, even if they were pissing in a public street it shouldn't be that big a deal, footballers and party goers do it every weekend, never mind the fact that they've thought 'right, we'll have mad monday on private property, away from the media so the boys can let their hair down' only to be under surveillance.
