He only got well known around the world because he kicked a drop goal. Yeah just a drop goal. That drop goal won them the world cup but it was just a drop goal. He was always an overrated player.
I realise that but just because of that drop goal ever since he's been in most people's minds one of the best players. One drop goal doesn't just suddenly make you one of the best players in the world even if it did win them the world cup. He has and always will be overrated due to him kicking a drop goal.
He scored all his team's points in the France semi as well iirc. Played a fairly large part in winning that WC and getting them there as well.
Not a massive fan of Johnny boy, but he did do a little more than kick one drop goal in 2003, was in the England team from the late 90's iirc.
