It's been known for a little while unoffically, but I thought I'd better officially announce this competition. Asia will be playing against Victoria in a three game series during the representative legs of Rounds 2-4 of Season 10. As Asia are not a full member province these games will NOT have representative status; they will count as miscallaneous First Class matches. I've named it after Stormer for obvious reasons. As a result, Asian players who are in contention for their current provinces' starting lineups for State or Origin or Jae Taylor matches that round will be able to choose whether to play full representative cricket for their current province, or practice matches for Asia. Realistically this only applies to Shri, so he'll have to let Ged know whether he wants to be available for Origin this season or not (he will be available for the PC regardless as Asia don't have any games corresponding to it).
Don't think it would really affect us, Chung would leave, is that it? apart from new members like Chewie.
Wouldn't be surprised if we dropped one at full strength tbh But yeah, I'll be playing full strength.
A lot of the actual Indian members signed up as New Zealand because they hate Australia and England. Odds are they'll never ever play for you even if they turn out good enough though as Asia will probably be added to the PC next season.
Yeah. Means NSW City are probably going to have to use Azzal next season! NSW City don't play at the same time as Asia this season though, thankfully.
Asia lol. But after the series is over and Victoria play in the Provincial Championship, you can play for them. Best of both worlds.
