Season 3, Round 1: Hurricanes vs. Vikings (vBookie)

Still on the Vikings 10m line here as Denton is tackled by Braid. A close ruck here as Torres contests O’Neill for control. The Vikings sense an opportunity for a turnover here. Robinson comes in, but the ref’s called him for off-side. Interesting call from the ref there, and the Canes fans cheer.

 

Ames with the kick to touch. Finds it round about the 22. A good throw from Smith this time with the pressure on, and the Vikings fail to contest with League Lover taking the ball from a deep throw. Lover passes out to Ames who goes on a run with the tall timber committed at the line out. Ames down the line to King, but Delonge is there again. A good tackle, but there’s no help there for him with only Cambridge able to get there and he can’t push off Glensor or Torres who come in and secure the ball.

 

Glensor tries to ram through off the back of the ruck, but somehow Jacobs gets in his way and holds him briefly. A ruck forms, but again, there’s not enough support for the Vikings. Pilgrim to Ames. Ames with the grubber through the defensive line. The Vikings didn’t expect that...

 

Through comes Kelvin Fung – he’s had a quiet game so far, but he rushes through as the ball crosses the try line. Jacobs there too, they both go for the ball. It’s been grounded, but who grounded it? Over to the TMO to sort this one out.
