    You are a survivor of a zombie apocalypse in the small town of Kensett. You have met nine other survivals and have decided to work together to try to survive until you can be rescued.

    AIM:

    Your immediate aim is to survive until you can be rescued. While keeping other members of your group could aid in your survival, ultimately you only care about your own survival.

    RULES:

    Technical rules:
    -Don't discuss numerical stats with anyone else, other than health, energy and hunger.
    -Public communication can be done through the thread.
    -Private communication can be done, but only if characters involved are at the same location. You can do this via PMs or any other method you wish (e.g. start a quicktopic).

    Basics:
    -Each turn is equivalent to 2 hours.
    -Dawn is at 6am, dusk is at 6pm. Zombies will be more frequent and your vision will be lessened during the night.
    -Each turn, each character has a choice of the following actions: search location, keep watch, secure location, tinker item, heal injured, sleep, travel (scout), travel (occupy).

    Items:
    -All items will initially be private to a character.
    -All items have weight. A character can only carry a maximum of 15 units of items.

    Locations:
    -Each hex represents a location that you can occupy.
    -Each location has a public stash that a character can place their items. Note that anyone at the location can take any items up to their limit of 15 units of items.
    -Securing a location will make it harder for zombies to get inside as well as make it easier to re-occupy a location that has been left abandoned.
    -Locations can be searched for items.
    -Locations will come in different types (e.g. house or store). This determines how easy it will be to secure the location and the type of items you may find in them.

    Keeping watch:
    -Keeping watch will give members of the group a large combat bonus if any zombies attack

    Tinkering:
    -Tinkering items gives a chance of making them more effective.
    -Any items in the personal inventory or in the public stash of a location can be tinkered.

    Healing:
    -A person who is injured can be healed by somebody else at the same location.
    -The amount healed is based on their healing stat.
    -Bandages will boost the amount healed.

    Energy:
    -Each character has a energy statistic. The maximum is 50. Each turn, this will decrease by 4. Other actions may cause this to decrease.
    -If a character's energy ever goes below 25, their effectiveness in all tasks and combat will decrease. The more it goes below 25, the greater this decrease will be.
    -Once a character's energy reaches 0, they will faint until their energy reaches 30.
    -At each turn, a character may sleep to increase their energy by 8.

    Hunger:
    -Each character has a hunger statistic. The maximum is 50. Each turn, this will decrease by 1. Other actions may cause this to decrease.
    -If a character's hunger ever goes below 25, their effectiveness in all tasks and combat will decrease. The more it goes below 25, the greater this decrease will be.
    -Once a character's hunger reaches 0, they will die.
    -A character can eat at any time without using their action, provided they have the food. Rations will increase hunger by 20. Food scraps will increase hunger by 5.

    Travel:
    -A character can move one hex every turn.
    -If a character is scouting, they will attempt to give do a brief scout of the location to see how easy it would be to occupy the location and an estimate of the number of zombies outside and inside the location.
    -If a character is occupying, they will attempt to occupy the location, fighting any zombies that are in the way. If successful, this will be where they will be based in the following turn.

    Death:
    -Death is permanent. This isn't meant to be an easy game and some people may die to what may seem like unwinnable situations. This is entirely intended, but generally it will be because they placed themselves in the situations in the first place.

    Character sheets should be all out.

    Turn ends when everyone tells me what they want to do either in this thread or in a PM, or both if you want to be sneaky (PM will override what's in the thread). Just note that you obviously can't say you'll keep watch if you end up traveling somewhere else because everyone will see that you actually moved.

    Probably best to secure and search 7 Eilerson Road for now.

    Personally I reckon it would be best for one person to keep watch and then everyone else to split between securing our current location and searching it, to try and make it our main base.

    I'm sure some people will decide that's boring though, and will try to do something else, so at least it's early so there shouldn't be an awfully high number of zombies around.

    I'm willing to watch and stay guard if given some sort of help or compensation in that regard. I'm far more suited to not going out and scouting but equally, I don't want to sit back whilst you're all gaining items through visiting new places.

    Question on mechanics

    Does secure location mean secure like build up defences or secure like look through the area to kill any zombies currently there

    Yeah this pretty much.

    I'm confident I'm going to be the best by some distance at healing people, so I'm quite happy to just stay at the back and heal people as long as I get support to make sure I don't die.

    If people start being dicks though and not working as a team, my desire to heal you is going to decrease...

    I'd have thought we want at least two doing each, and then we can see how far through securing and searching we get.

    I'm a bit unsure atm, I've got a pistol with 12 bullets, but would rather find a melee weapon before looking to push out a bit.

    Im thinking, Mechanic and Farmer secure the location

    Pickpockets search our current location for all the goodies

    Shop/Doc stand watch

    Me Doog and the Hunter occupy number 10, clear it out if anythings in there


    Im happy if someones wanting me or doog (il volunteer) to stand watch rather than someone else if they want to move on, but im thinking until we all get some decent weapons, the 2 that seem most likely to stop stuff should clear out the next room

    Thoughts?

    I reckon this is a decent idea.

    Mechanic and Farmer to secure the location.
    Pickpockets to search the location.
    I'll stand watch, because at the moment I've probably got the least valuable skills.
    And then the rest of you and the Shopkeeper head to the shop.
