Been thinking about this since Friday, but how good do you think Essendon really is? We've seen their best against Hawthorn and Collingwood and their worst against St. Kilda and Collingwood. So which is the real Essendon? Is Essendon really that good or bad? Can they win the flag? Also, thoughts on Carlisle?
At their best - excellent. At their worst - fragile. Carlisle - exceptional back, average forward. Similar to Hurley really but I prefer Hurley both back and forward which makes it tough.
Goddard would help, but even at there best i just can't see them winning a flag , i know watching them in the 1st term on Friday was good, but it went to shit after that
If I were them I'd trade one of Hooker, Hurley and Carlisle at the end of the year. Can't play all 3 and they'll still have Pears as back-up and probably Fletcher too. No point wasting one of them when they can get a very good mid or fwd, or at worst a first round pick.
Do people feel worried when they see they're playing Essendon? I just can't work them out. Obviously their forward line is a mess atm, but they look really impressive at times even with that. I just don't get it.
I worry as an essendon supporter with pretty much every game, incosistency is probably the most frustrating thing as a supporter. Goddard is obviously a huge part of the side and him back in will be a big bonus, Think Bellchambers should be able to make a big difference too, will see wither Carlisle or Daniher out of the side and mean there's proper competition for spots. At this point I can't see Bomber going back on his word and pushing Carlise back.
